thank you sdayman for your responses and help. I didn’t know how to do this but my theme provider did it for me.

    thanks

Mark, thank you so very much for getting back to me on this, I do appreciate it.

It has been a stressful time. I look forward to the update and the issue being resolved.

    kind regards

Mark, I would also like to add that I am being hammered by the minute from different IP address but all from broad.pt.fj.dynamic.163data.com.cn – I have tried blocking this in advanced options but it doesn’t seem to be working. Is it possible that I can block these?

    thanks again

    Hi Mark
thank you for responding. I am not that tech savvy, but with some help from google, I think I have found the error

Uncaught RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded

So does this mean that I have blocked too many IP’s.

Although sdayman mentions that deactivating Wordfence may solve the problem, I do in fact have IP’s who have tried continually (250 times for example) of trying to log in 3 months or so after I have blocked them. Now that I can’t see the blocked IP’s, I can’t see who the culprits are anymore. When I try to block spammers, it is not working, as I can’t seem to block IP’s or if I have I can’t see whether it has happened or not.

    thanks for responding. ??

thank you so much sdayman for your response and help. This has been driving me insane.

Do you mind answering one more question please; if I do what you suggest above, does this mean I will also loose the IP’s that I have blocked over the past couple of years? I am assuming that it would.

The problem with this is, when I could see the Blocked IP’s page, I could see hundreds of blocked hits from IP’s that I had blocked over a year ago.

Does this make me vulnerable again?

I understand that I am using the free service but when there is multiple entries about the same issue and one poster in particular actually received a response from the author, her problem wasn’t resolved, yet he hit the resolve button anyway. I am happy to pay for a paid service but I haven’t found a compelling reason to do this with Worfence yet, especially now. I am actually thinking of going over to ithemes,

I do use jetapck/akismet but every day I have to delete spam and now because of the broken feature from Wordfence am unable to block them.
thank you again for taking the time to respond

How do I get someone to respond to this question?

Since the 28th July I have been unable to see my blocked IP’s and am unable to block any ip’s and getting hammered with spam.

    Can someone PLEASE help

Hi sdayman, thanks for you response but I don’t have a static ip address, I have checked with my provider and that don’t offer this option.

But this still doesn’t resolve my issue of being unable to see my blocked ip’s or have the option to block ip’s

So I will ask again …. does anyone know why I am unable to block and why the blocked ips are not showing?

Does anyone including the author of wordfence know why this is happening and how to resolve it

I have tagged on to others with the same problem, I was told to create my separate thread, which I did. See above.

However, I have not received any responses from either other users or in particular from Wordfence.

Where do I go from here?

    Can someone either

    1. recommend a remedy
    2. recommend another security plug in I can use, where the forum and provider provides service and responses

    thanks ?? in advance

Good question Ashar, does anyone help? I am baffled why this forum exists, if no one, including the Wordfence guy doesn’t respond!

thanks for your response aspasa – I am not looking for someone to advise on a new host , I am actually looking for an answer from Wordfence. I was going to upgrade to the paid section, but I cannot find any compelling reasons of yet, to do this. The service is non-existent.

    My reasons being:

9,550 failed log in attempts in a six hour period.
The amount of Spam on my site – and when I google search – I see this spam
None, whatsoever communication to answer my questions about what has happened or any links to send me in the right direction to see what is going on or to help me out

I am baffled – can someone remind me why Wordfence is so great?
Yes, I am annoyed and getting a little more vocal now, but when I read about people who have had 50 log in attempts – I have to laugh. You read that correctly above that was 9 THOUSAND, five hundred and fifty attempts. This is not an exaggeration – I had to delete each and every email alert from my iphone, one at a time.

Since then I am unable to access the BLOCKED IP’s on Wordfence, I get a blank page and from what I have gleaned on the net, others have had this problem too – this was since 28th July, so why not own up and say and then I can move on to trying to get this sorted.

In the meantime, I have continual spam, and can’t block them. Is it just me?

I will be the squeaky door until I get a response from someone, anyone!
My latest failed scan read : Call to Wordfence API to resolve IPs failed: WordFence API error: Wordfence is currently experiencing high load and is giving priority to paid customers.

Is this a message for me to pay but I still am flabbergasted as to why I should at this point, if I can’t get any response or support. I don’t find a compelling reason to pay yet.

When I use or buy a product, the support and customer service is a huge factor.

off my soap box for the time being……

    Hi there
although the above posts are old I am tagging on to this as well, as I have had no response from the thread I started myself with the same problem.

On the 28th July I had 9,550 email alerts of attempted log ins.
    Since then
    * my site has been extremely slow
    * most of the time it bumps me off with the error: Error Establishing Data Connection
(whether I am in the front or backend and whether I am logged in or not
    * I cannot access my blocked IP’s, and as posters above I wait minutes for it to try to download the blocked IP’s and in the end I get a blank page. I do have hundreds of blocked IP’s
    * On some occassions I get a message: no IP’s are blocked
Is it possible I have been hacked or is this an ongoing Wordfence issue?
Is someone able to help me out here?
    thank you in advance

    Hi there
well, I still have the same issue, no one seems to reply and it looks like I am not alone with this issue. This issue is sprinkled all around this forum.

Does anyone have any answers, can anyone provide some help, or do I just give up?

    thanks

    Hi there
I have the same issue since around the same date.

When I go into blocked IP’s I have a blank page.
If I try to manually block an IP and when I try I get this message:
Call to Wordfence API to resolve IPs failed: We received an error response when trying to contact the Wordfence scanning servers. The HTTP status code

    Then it says ‘idle’

My site has slowed down and most times, kicks me off with the error :
    Error establishing a database connection

Can someone please help, I posted another thread where I had over 9,000 attempts at someone trying to login, which no one has replied to. I am really distressed over this and hope someone will reply.
    thank you

thanks @jan Dembowski I have set up a new topic.
