it seems it was addslashes – when I removed the quote symbols, it now looks okay.

ahha – I deactivated “AStickyPostOrderER” and it’s fine now – it appears on the home page. https://goodjobsforall.ca/
AStickyPostOrderER says there’s a new available 2.5.3. Should I upgrade even though I’m using WP 3.0.1?

Well, I deleted version 2.9.2 and installed the latest Beta 3.0 (Beta 2) and it worked like a charm.
Don’t know what the problem was, but I’ll try and live with Beta 2.
Thanks.
yes – tried this and it works;

This is the main page for the WP installation: https://www.labourcouncil.ca/cctc
With Firefox, it sends me here: https://www.labourcouncil.ca/cctc/wp-admin/install.php and then just a blank page.
But MS-IE (8) just gives me the 500 Internal error message.
Here’s teh PHP-info page: https://www.labourcouncil.ca/lib/php/phpinfo.php
Is it possible that I have the wrong MySQL version? My hosting company says I have MySQL ver 5.
