• Hi,

Great plugin, but I am wondering, as in FAQ you say:
Help! I just activated a snippet, and my whole site broke!

If it is a wpms with many users and one mess up his site, If I add the code to wp-config, it will then deactivate all other snippets running on other sites and mess them up until the one in question has been fixed and the code removed from wp-config.

I might misunderstand the whole point but, I cannot as superadmin keep an eye on every step users do. This got me thinking of the total outcome and possible mess it can make on the whole network.

Wold there be a workaround such as preview feature you could add or other solution so wp-config don’t have to be edited in such situations?

    Regards
    Dennis

I’m not sure why I completely missed this thread, but I’ll answer it now anyway.

In recent versions of the plugin, authorized users can add a query variable to a URL in order to temprarily activate safe mode for that page. Just add /?snippets-safe-mode=1' to the URL (or&snippets-safe-mode=1if there's already a&` in the URL) and it will be as if safe mode was active for that page.

Does this sound like an acceptable solution? Or were you looking for something a little more sophisticated?

I am not sure if you updated the plugin but, some time ago I noticed one change; it opens a white error screen without activating the problematic snippet and gives you the error and the option to go back and fix the snippet, instead of the site going down until the error is fixed, much better than the previous method!

Your solution above can come in handy if everything else fails, especially when those users don’t have access to wp-config.

Yep, this is a feature I introduced a while back. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work for snippets containing named functions or classes, due to how it operates behind the scenes, but hopefully I’ll be able to strengthen this in future versions. I’m glad that you’re finding it helpful!
