In reply to: Show different thumbnail for home page and single article in Facebook sharingalchymyth and ManuelRosini, I found this thread while looking for a solution to my current problem and I wonder if you could clarify something. Does this have to do with the thumbnail that appears when you post a link to your site on Facebook? I’m trying to get some control over which image is used and so far have failed completely. If the codes you have shared would solve this problem, where should I put them — in the header.php? I have a “web-thumbnail.png” image saved in my Media Library and that’s the one I would like to use.
I should also mention that I tried out the uppermost code in this thread:
<link rel="image_src" href="myimage.jpg" />
and changed the image info to my own but it didn’t do the trick. I placed it in the head portion of my stylesheet. I’ve since removed it.I’m using a child TwentyEleven theme and my site is .
Thank you!

In reply to: Tierra Audio with Autoresume – How to put on Home Page?Update: I uninstalled and re-installed the Tierra plugin and recreated my playlist. Then instead of placing it randomly on my home page, I dragged the widget into my menu and then adjusted the settings from the page where you can drag things to and from your menu. Now it plays automatically when the page opens. Unfortunately, it doesn’t “autoresume” when you navigate through the site, so that’s my next hurdle.

In reply to: Problems creating custom page templateJust reporting back that I’ve found a temporary fix for the problem of getting left-justified text centered on my lyrics pages, with the title above it. Unfortunately, I was never able to do it with a custom page template, so I may be back with questions the next time I try to set one of those up.
In case anyone else reads this who is struggling with formatting lyrics or poetry, here’s what I did: I changed the h2 left margin setting in style.css until the title was somewhat centered and then in each page of the lyrics, highlighted the whole text and used the right-arrow Indent icon to move it over until I was happy with the placement on the page. That little right Indent icon seemed to magically appear one fine day; I could swear that it wasn’t there earlier when I was first struggling with this! It may have to do with the WP-Typography plugin that I installed. Or not, but that is a great plugin.

In reply to: Tierra Audio with Autoresume – How to put on Home Page?Hi Victoria,
Unfortunately, I can’t offer help because I’m in the same boat as you and found your question while trying to solve my own dilemma. I’m just beginning to build my site (https://www.janiechristensen.com) and at one time had the Tierra autoresume working perfectly. It began to play at just the right volume when my site was opened. But I removed it at one point and now have re-installed it and can’t get the same results. It shows up on my home page (looking ugly; can’t seem to get the styling changes to stick, either) and I can play the track by clicking play, but it won’t play automatically when the site is opened.
I know this is no help to you at all, but if I find a solution I will certainly let you know. It sounds like you’ve done most things right, but obviously something isn’t falling into place. Have you uploaded your mp3 files to your theme’s content via FTP? And have you tried the Tierra Audio with Autoresume plugin? That’s the one I’m working with; it may work better for you. What is the address of your site? The forum experts like to be able to access it, so posting it might encourage more help.
All the best,

In reply to: Problems creating custom page templateArgh. I see that I’m using the link button incorrectly — I apologize! Here is my site (without going anywhere near that link button…): https://www.janiechristensen.com.

In reply to: Custom menu setup & formatting problemsYou’re brilliant. It’s gone! I removed <?php wp_nav_menu($args); ?> from the sidebar.php and it worked beautifully. I really can’t thank you enough. What a relief!

In reply to: Custom menu setup & formatting problemsEsmi, following your instructions has helped me so much and the CSS tutorials are a treasure-trove. I’ve set up the framework for the jQuery accordion menu and will begin to fill it with content shortly, but the custom menu that I created to act as the basis for the jQuery menu is showing up above the jQuery menu on my home page and I can’t get rid of it. Firebug is giving me this as its location but I haven’t been able to locate this anywhere in my theme’s editor:
<div class=”menu-custom-menu-container”><ul id=”menu-custom-menu” class=”menu”>
(The actual string is much longer, listing each menu item.)
Can you point me in the right direction to get this off my page?
Thank you!

In reply to: Custom menu setup & formatting problemsExcellent. I will follow both of those links. I’ve already found that a book from the library (CSS the Missing Manual) is helping to decode things and make it all seem less esoteric. I used to love cracking codes as a kid and this is reawakening that part of my brain. Will use Firefox per your suggestion. I’m grateful for your help!

In reply to: Custom menu setup & formatting problemsThank you for your quick response, Esmi! I have just added the jQuery accordion plugin and will follow their instructions on getting it to work; I hope that solves all the problems.
As far as #2 on your list — I’m just beginning to unravel stylesheets, so I wouldn’t know how to edit it without guidance. And I’m sorry, but I don’t understand #3. I’m trying to learn but I’m just beginning. Thank you again.
