I found out the “guilty” plugin is polylang. The plugin has a setting “Detect browser language – When the front page is visited, redirects to itself in the browser preferred language. As this doesn’t work if it is cached, Polylang will attempt to disable the front page cache for known cache plugins.”

If I disable this function both home pages have more or less the same performance. But is not a solution to disable this function. I found in some old posts that there is no workaround. But the posts were 2 years old. Is there a workaround nowadays? any ideas on how to solve this?

I contact Tawk on is website and got the following answer:

“It is expected to see tawk.to causing errors when running tests on GTMetrix because we block crawlers. The widget will simply not load in speed tests because the tests depend on crawling, and we do not allow crawlers to access the widget code. This is why the widget failed to load. Because the tawk.to widget does not load until after your website is fully loaded, your page load speed will not be affected by having a tawk.to widget on your site. It loads asynchronously. In reality event listing don’t react to language changes. I create the page in 2nd language and all courses in english show and no course in the 2nd language.
