Disabling the plugin was the resolution.

I disabled Fedmich’s Facebook Open Graph Meta plugin and now things are back to normal.

Nevermind.

It’s working now. I pasted the shortcode into the visual side, not the text side of the editor.

I checked out the video and I appreciate what the guy is doing. However, he starts talking about child themes, and I don’t have the icons come up on my screen that show the thick pencil for editing.

I don’t know what’s going on.

Advanced Image Styles is still not working for me. I followed deactivate/activate instructions in another thread. No change. All I have are the resize handles.

I’ve only posted about Windows Live Writer in this thread, ma’am.

I’m just offering feedback and sharing a solution that I’ve found.

Across various threads people have discussed challenges with the new text editor and it’s been made quite clear that the features we want aren’t coming back, and Advanced Image Styles plugin hasn’t been a 100% replacement. I just wanted to share that Windows Live Writer is a solution, as are some other text editors that allow for publishing straight to a WordPress blog.

With the margin and border options as part of WP we had something that was working. With this as a plugin, we’ve gotta wait for the Advanced Image Styles author who’s responded to 2 of 10 support threads.

1. The author of Advanced Image Styles hasn’t responded to requests for support.

2. A problem of making this a plugin is it’s one more plugin that could have a conflict with the rest of the plugins. What non-developer has time to go deactivate 30+ plugins to fish for a specific conflict?

I installed the plugin and all I have are re-size handles and no clear option for adjusting how the image sits in my blogpost.

So … I wait to hear from someone on the Advanced Image Styles support thread.

I also noticed that the image looks in-line in the editor and doesn’t look like it’s floating. However, in Preview, the image does indeed float with the text wrapped around it. That’s a bit disorienting.
