In reply to: [jQuery T(-) Countdown Widget] Add title with shortcodeSorry, found it. Can use “before=”<p>title</p>””. But how to format the font? Inline styling doesn’t work. Thanks again!

In reply to: [LightPress Lightbox] A few features thoughts, e.g. detect attached photosThanks again for the information. I have checked out plugins to link to other thumbnail sizes but somehow non of them seem to do the job I needed; can’t really remember much. Anyway, glad to hear there will be more to come in this plugin.

In reply to: [Custom Upload Dir] Search and mobile apps compatibilityI can understand that. I have seen other plugins making unsuccessful attempts. Guess it is not a good idea to mess with the filesystem. Still Custom Upload Dir has done right what it is intended. Thanks!
Thanks for the update. I was not able to try it earlier. The scaling on mobile device is definitely better now. The swipe and close on mobile devices are still hit and miss. I am yet to get the map to work and I didn’t see any map icon. Will check again when time permit.

In reply to: [Custom Upload Dir] Search and mobile apps compatibilityAnd perhaps that dumb idea I suggested would also address the issue of users who already have tons of medias littered by WordPress in the upload folders. And, even allowing users to change path template and “upload” the filesystem. There will be no hesitation to use this plugin to get organized.
Thanks again!

In reply to: [Custom Upload Dir] Search and mobile apps compatibilityThanks a lot for working on it!
It took me a while to digest the technical details and I am still in indigestion. I gathered that the mobile apps do not supply post specific information for plugin to use. Indeed I tested on iOS and Android and post specific placeholders are ignored. However, these are the crucial information to get organized (e.g. postname).
This highlight another shortcoming of WordPress mobile apps. I had highlighted their limited ability in handling images in the iOS WordPress forum earlier. Perhaps I will share this finding in their forum. In fact, I have been avoiding posting from my mobile devices as I prefer my media to be organized by Custom Upload Dir. Also, there are other limitations in the way mobile apps upload images.
Ideally the mobile apps should address this problem as many other plugins will benefit from the supplied information. I think at the moment most plugins don’t address the need of mobile posting, while only focus on the need of displaying content on mobile devices (which is still very challenging). May be a rather dumb idea from me, I wonder if it is possible to handle the issue by allowing “post operation” (post in the sense of afterward, as opposed to pre). Those upload with missing post specific placeholders will be recorded, allowed to upload in parent folder (e.g. upload/) and then find out which post they have been attached, and then move them to subfolder based on specified placeholders. I guess the most complicated task will be to then update the url in the post. In a way, this approach will be independent of how front end work, may be.
Thanks again for the great plugin! It’s definitely an important one in my workflow.

In reply to: [LightPress Lightbox] A few features thoughts, e.g. detect attached photosSorry, it is the linked image size that is taking time to load.
It is unfortunate that WordPress native media uploader, until now, has only convenient link to original file (no selection of thumbnail, e.g. large) unless we are willing to modify the linked url individually (or a plugin, which I haven’t identify one that work in my setting). So, for those images that I didn’t reduce before upload, they will pop up slow.
I wonder if your plugin can supplement this missing functionality in WordPress native media uploader. With plenty of bandwidth here while realizing viewers have limited bandwidth, my ideal workflow for handling image is: (1) upload full resolution image (for keeping and future thumbnail regeneration); (2) insert medium size image in post (for fast browsing experience); (3) link to large size image (for larger view). WordPress media uploader allows me to do (1) and (2) but not (3). WordPress mobile app handle images rather thoughtlessly by fixing all three into the same selected size defeating the purpose of generating multiple thumbnail sizes.
A few thoughts from user point of view (obviously, easier said than done when thinking as developer):
1. An option to allow the lightbox to load selected size of thumbnail (e.g. large) rather than the linked file (which may be at full resolution).
2. At the moment, the display goes blank with loading image (rolling animation) when the slideshow loads the next image. This gives sluggish feel (although it’s the image size that causes the problem). I wonder if there is way to load the next image while current image is being displayed (hence the timing setting will be adjusted accordingly).
3. To further reduce unnecessary delay and data usage to load large image to be displayed on small screen (e.g. mobile devices), I wonder if it will be possible to dynamically select and load appropriate thumbnail size in accordance to the intended display size. In this way, users can choose to capitalize this ability to speed up their website image loading by generating different sizes of thumbnails.
4. Another user experience point. The swipe works but it didn’t feel like a swipe. Perhaps an animation of the image sliding left/right will enhance that feeling.Sorry for the long comments. This is a great plugin. Thanks again!

In reply to: [LightPress Lightbox] A few features thoughts, e.g. detect attached photosCool, ya, it works! Thanks!
I notice the images are taking a long time to load in the lightbox. I am not sure where is the problem yet (I thought I have reduced the image size when I upload), I have to do some tests. May be not so soon, have to do other works.
Thanks for the great plugin.

In reply to: [LightPress Lightbox] A few features thoughts, e.g. detect attached photosSorry, the indication of more pics in the queue already displayed at the bottom of the frame. So, yes, 4 is completely irrelevant now.

In reply to: [LightPress Lightbox] A few features thoughts, e.g. detect attached photosHey
Indeed. With current highly swipe literate generation, the next/prev icons can be irrelevant. The only purpose they can serve is the indication of more pics in the queue.
By the way, I completely missed your earlier reply. Many thanks!
Thanks for getting back. I will post my review when I have used the plugin enough; I am yet to decide which to go.
Your plugin has great potential, given the amount of thoughts given and works done. I hope it will take care of the basic needs and non-technical users too. It will be great if it can achieve 4-7 through, for example:
4. simple shortcode [mapsmaker images=’specify if not to show all’] or with a single button on TinyMCE and selecting the available option.
5. simple shortcode [mapsmaker posts=’specify if not current post’] or with a single button on TinyMCE and selecting the available option.
6. have the fields in post editor and with a single button on TinyMCE to select the location (or change the auto detected) on map
7. simple shortcode [mapsmaker gpx=’fullpath/filename.gpx’] or with a single button on TinyMCE and selecting to upload the gpx file or specify a url (to be able to generate map from kml will be important too)
