Hi and thanks for the feedback. It was definitely a nginx error which didn’t even reach PHP so WP wasn’t involved and yet as soon as I deactivate WordFence it went away.

I can’t seem to reproduce it right now so I’ll set the status to resolved and will update the thread with more info if I can reproduce it and attach the logs.

IS your wp install setup to serve via https? can we have a link to your site? if you look at the page source code, search for http/s links and you’ll see what the problem is.

ah, I see, thanks for clarifying and pointing me in the right direction. That was a custom made theme made long ago, I guess I’ll have to read up and see if I can fix it myself :-9

Perfect! Thanks! I had the same PHP error showing up and you fix solved that.

Similar situation here but instead of a shortcode I use PHP and even if the PHP code returns nothing the widget still shows.

Would be nice to know how exactly this is supposed to work.
