In reply to: WordPress theme ripoffHey thanks for your input, I figured it was a lost cause. No big deal. Hey have you found a seamstress for your head? That seems like it could be a real disadvantage at times.

In reply to: WordPress theme ripoffI tried posting the footer code. It wasn’t for some reason allowed so here is a link where you can take a look at it. I’ve trashed it and found another Theme so it’s a mute point.

In reply to: WordPress failure: i′ve had enoughI just started with WordPress a couple of weeks ago and it couldn’t find the directory ethier.
You have to show it the path, so to speak. example:
Mine is, https://www.blahblahblah.com/WordPress/wp-content/plugins/random-image-widget/ugly.jpg Not a real url
OR
https://www.blahblahblah.com/WordPress/wp_content/uploads/ugliest.jpg
You need to put the pictures in whatever folder you like, Then show WordPress where to find them.Forum: Everything else WordPress

In reply to: blog or site?I would do a site. The blog can be a link or the url you give people, but a normal site gives you a lot more flexability. You will need a web editor such as Dreamweaver, Expression web or your choice. You will then be able to do both and create links between the two as if they were the same site. Which they are. WordPress seems to allow more people the ability to create a presence on the web and has a lot to offer, but it is still a blog.
Hope that helps.Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: If the Theme Editor is as bad as some people say..I’ve never used the theme editor. Nor NotePad. I used FrontPage and now Expression web which is a buggy bitch. It does allow me to save a file under a different name work on it, then if all is well, dump the original and replace it with the new one. I would think that the theme editor is for those who think they have no other means of access and as such it serves a purpose. I think I looked at the editor once and shrugged. One thing I have learned is to back up. When you make a change in the theme editor, Copy/paste that page into “Word” or any program for that matter. That way if things go south, you have a copy of the original that you can just paste back in or use as a reference. Take notes. Write down the changes you make until you are confident that everything will work.
One basic rule I’ve adapted is when unsure, work on a copy.Forum: Themes and Templates
