    Marking as resolved

    Me again,

Check out the 2.20 update – it will resolve your problem. However, the downside is that when you upgrade to this version of the plugin, you will lose your custom skins again – this will be for the last time though!

I’ve had to rewrite the way the skins work, so now your custom skins should be placed in the following areas (which you’ll need to create)
/wp-content/uploads/olimometer/skins.xml = your new custom skins file
/wp-content/uploads/olimometer/skins/ = folder for your new skin_slug folders
/wp-content/uploads/olimometer/skins/<your skin_slug>/ = a folder with the name of your custom skin_slug parameter containing the png images.

Take a look at the new FAQ because the structure of the skins.xml is slightly different.

    Hi,

At the moment, no. But… I am working to re-do the skin implementation to work on skin name ‘slug’ and not the position of the skin details in the XML file. As a consequence of this change, I’ll be able to import a custom skins xml file from another location not touched by the plugin as well as the factory-fitted skins meaning you won’t lose them in future releases. No ETA but I’ll keep you informed.

@fprietoster that sounds very possible, however because it’s such a specialised request I don’t want to include it in the main Olimometer development trunk. I reckon I could do it as a separate bolt-on plugin which would automatically update the stored progress value of the main Olimometer plugin everytime a new post is added.

That way we could provide far more options such as monitoring just a single category of posts, or only posts which match a certain critera. I won’t be able to do this for a few weeks due to holiday but I’ll certainly start work on it. I’ll drop a note on this forum when I get back and see if you still need this.

@fprietoster currently this is not an easy option. It would require me to create an API of some sorts in to the plugin.

When you say post value, do you mean a WordPress post, or an HTML form POST? If you can give me a few more details on how you would imagine it would work from your perspective then that’ll give me something to start with. Would you plan on writing your own code to integrate with the thermometer plugin in order to supply it with data or are you thinking that the plugin could automatically pick up the values from somewhere?

I’m going to reply to my own with a fix here… I should have read the CHANGELOG properly- I did this to fix the No data to display problem:

Geolocation: updated the information in the CSV file included (May 2011, 146219 rows). Go to Options > Maintenance > Reset Ip-to-Countries. Then deactivate/reactivate WP SlimStat to import the new file.

    Hi Camu,

Thanks for the reply, it was very helpful and it’s working great now.

Since the update most of the slimstat widgets (recent keywords, traffic sources overview, etc…) show the text “No data to display” and the Raw Data table also shows this message even though it says there should be records to display. It is clearly keeping track of the hits to the site as numbers are changing on the front page, but none of the reports are saying there is any data. Is this a known bug?

And I’ve already given you 5 stars!

    Thanks,
    Oli

As an update to this, I’ve also noticed that a great deal of the methods called by the WP-slimstat-shortcodes plugin are also gone, so throw up errors too. I can’t see a simple solution to this problem that doesn’t involve creating a custom report or plugin to add in these missing functions. Can they not be added back please?
