There can be a number of reasons.
Too many Plugins,
Optimize your Database,
Delete inactive plugins,
Minify your CSS
Optimize images
And More Importantly Please Use Super cache if not using it now….

Can u send us the whole single.php file ??

Under Settings -> Permalinks

Choose Custom Permalinks and insert /%postname%/
Or try some other predefined Permalinks other than the Default one!
