Deep inside, I was hoping not to hear that. The website has been hacked twice before; the first time I managed to identify the problem and remove it manually, using Wordfence and the second time I had to install a backup. I have an old backup (Oct 2023), but I was avoiding to istall it because the site has changed since then (it has many more blog articles) and I am not sure I can post them all again. Also the site is very well ranked, and it may be affected. As far as we got here, it seems it’s the only thing I can do.

As you stated, 500 error is no longer happening. It has been fixed, when I installed a backup, after installing manually Worpress.
We are back to the backend not loading properly, even with all plugins deactivated and only the Twenty Twenty-Four theme in use.
I am using PHP version is 8.1, but I tried also 7.4, 8, and 8.2.
On PHP 8.2, the backend does not load and gives back this error: “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.” so I set it back to PHP version 8.1.
I understand your concerns about accessing the site and I truly appreciate all the time given to fix this issue; I usually can fix WordPress issues by myself, but this one came out of the blue.
Here’s a list of things I can remember I did:

Deactivate all plugins
Changed theme
Changed PHP version
Renamed .htaccess
Re-installed WordPress (except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory)
Clear caches
Changed browser

Unfortunately, that is all the error log shows. That 500 error popped up, when I manually re-install WordPress, via FTP. I am not sure how relevant it is, as when I rolled back to the previous version, it dissapeared.

I think I’ll have to take extreme measures, like delete-install WordPress; and that is terrible, as the page is well ranked and it has a lot of work into it.

I did. Yesterday I tried to “provoke” the error, but nothing showed up on the log. Today, I accessed the log, and there were two events.

Nothing worked. However, I did find a recurrent error, starting on Feb 29. It recurs all the way, until yesterday.

Same result. Actually, I had a 500 error code on the front end. However, the backend was as before… it showed the menus, but no way to access them further. Always blank or loading. I restored the backup (along with the issue), but at least the webpage is working. I tried to install a plugin, to roll back the theme version, but it was not possible… once activated, it delivered a blank page. I am running out of ideas here.

No, deactivating all plugins did not resolve the issue, neither with the default theme nor with a core one. That is what concerns me. I had a similar issue before, but I resolved it by changing the PHP version; this time it didn’t work either.

Mr.Huff, I did that already, but nothing happened. No on screen message, no error warning, etc. Just in case, I tried again all the prior steps, but no results at all. Also, I played around with the php versions on the server, but it didn’t resolve the problem.

Tried to debug, after deactivting all plugins. It didn’t display any message on the screen.

Good morning
Just switched to three different themes, and the result is the same. I checked again inventory settings and the “hide sold out product” is checked.
Any other suggestion?

Issue resolved.
I had 5 featured posts, and “Number of posts for slider” was set on 6. I changed it to 5, and it works. Thanks to all for the help given!

I did not modify any theme file. I add a child theme, and removed it immediately.
I just disable and enable all plugins, one by one, and nothing. At this point I think someone cast a spell on me.
