Actually there is away I would check with plug-ins which will take feed posts and then post them on your blog. I can’t remember the one I used a while back for a similar reason but try searching feed to post.

When you say doing it wrong do you have any advice on doing it right? Essentially I have a dedicated page for each city in the United States. Each page will have local listings geared towards a specific industry. I was thinking wordpress would be great because it allows for much easier adding and deleting of the listings I would be displaying on the pages.

Are you getting any data from the import steps you have taken? Another option may be to just go to the mysql database itself and export your database and then import. I am using cpanel and able to get to this area through the php myadmin section. Let me know if you would like some additional assistance with this.
