Is there something wrong with this code? I put it in and the it seemingly applies to phone/tablet and desktop versions of the site.

Be aware that this change can make the text on your front page slider overlap incorrectly in your mobile version. I have not figured out how to apply it only to the desktop or tablet versions of my site. Maybe someone can help with that?

What do you think of the idea of just putting it at the bottom of every page on the site and removing all text from the theme footer? Is there a way to make a section sit on top of and connected to the theme footer? In other words, I could make the theme footer entirely black and then have a gradient that fades from one color down to black at the bottom and then have the gradient section “stick” to the top of the them footer? I made the custom footer as a template. What do you think?
