Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress header setting breaking websiteAny idea how this could just ‘happen’, though? 2 days ago the site looked just right.
Also, are these markup errors part of wordpres, or is this a theme issue?

In reply to: Changed access keys after a hack, and now no WP!Thank you Josh, that was the issue! I had accidentally left the localhost info un-edited…

In reply to: Changed access keys after a hack, and now no WP!Thanks for your response. I tried that just now: downloaded fresh copy of WP, grabbed the wp-config-sample file, renamed it to wp-config, added all the database name, username, and password stuff, then added the access keys, and uploaded it.
Now, instead of the parsing error, I get a “Error establishing a database connection” message. Just to be sure, I went to my host and copied all the db information to make sure I had it right…I can log into phpMyAdmin with this, so I’m sure my database name, username, and pass are all correct.
Could a malicious hack have caused all these problems? I have the sinking feeling I need to re-install completely….
Thank you for your feedback!
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Moving WP install and DBThank you so much! I will try importing the DB (following your advice above). It has been weeks of headaches, so if I still can’t get an empty WordPress install on serverTwo.com, then I’ll get in touch with the admin here and (sigh) ask him to help out.
Thank you!Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Moving WP install and DBWhew! Thank you, but maybe I can back up a little to explain:
I have resorted to trying to import my existing DB because I am unable to install WordPress on the new server in the first place: I have edited the wp-config file with the DB name, username, and password (which were created for me), but when I go to the URL of the ‘vanilla’ install, I get an ERROR 500 message. If I go to the admin address I get a 403 Forbidden message. I suspect something is incorrect with the DB that was set up, and thought I could side-step this by importing the DB and the existing WP files all at once. Does this make any sense at all?
On this server, I do not have permissions to create a new DB, even though I have access to phpMYadmin…
