What is the process to copy the Joomla database in local?

Does the FG joomla to wordpress plugin just copy over the content from the live joomla site and keep it as it is or does it actually get rid of the content from the live site and transfer it to the wordpress environment? My aim is just to copy what is on the joomla site to my local wordpress site. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. So does this mean that registering with bluehost the domain name I choose should be the subdomain (new.example.com) instead of the main domain exmaple.com?

I’m just a little confused about what the domain name for bluehost should be.
