I just changed an option, and have since deleted it.

I’ve uninstalled xampp and WP and started form scratch to see if I can get my site live.

So far, Ive done the following:

htdocs – deleted the xampp folder and index files

Installed wordpress files directly to htdocs (htdocs>*wpfiles* instead of htcocs>wordpress>*files*)

On the WP dashboard I changed:
WordPress address (URL) to my website URL
Site address (URL)to my website URL

My port 80 is open, my nameservers are updated…

And I still cant make it work.

And I’m sure its something so simple!

Is in under the phpmyadmin?

Ok, I did the following:

localhost>phpmyadmin>*database*>wp_options

Then added the URL into the text box, refreshed the server and now I get an error “Could not establish a connection to the database”

What did I mess up?

I’ve just found something similar to what your describing… Changing the database from https://localhost to siteURL? Im assuming that is what needs to happen… I’ll give it a shot!

Im guessing it has something to do with the index file in htdocs folder. Ive messed around with it a bit… instead of having the wordpress folder in htdocs (htdocs>wordpress>*files*) I placed all files from the wordpress folder directly into htdocs (htdocs>*files*).

Would it matter that my site is only a fresh theme right now? I have not added anything to it. I figured it would just show the theme and default content.

Just tried the plugin upload and still no dialog box. Its not t he pop-up blocker either.

I have been having problems with windows 7 lately, I cannot use the “save as” function in any program. Its been happening for about a week now. It may be the culprit. I will try to clean that up, and try again.

Yes, its third party.
Admin > Appearance > Install Themes > Upload>Button”Choose File”

A window should open for me to choose a file, but when I click the button nothing happens.

So somehow the button event is not working properly.
And Im not very skilled in reading or writing codex to see if the event is pointing at a “broken” directory. (if thats even what it does..)
