Thanks for the response, we did put this widget prior to (longtime ago) this upgrade but not recently, the code has been checked which is clean, wondering what it could be?

I think I have found what was causing the “sticky” post function, toggled that for those posts and date order is fine.

Not 100% how this happened in the first place, as majority of the posts where on “sticky” and were fine.

With regards to plugin, any in particular that might affect order of post display and these are the ones we have installed:

AddThis Social Bookmarking Widget (drop-down), Akismet, All in One SEO Pack, Breadcrumb Navigation XT, Embedded Video, FeedBurner FeedSmith, Get Recent Comments, Google Analytics for WordPress, Limit Posts, Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form, WordPress Affiliate Pro, WP-ContactForm, WP-Polls, WPtouch iPhone Theme

Failing this plugin potential solution, any suggestions of any thing else that might be causing this?
