  • Hi Stephane,

As for the 4th item, for your site’s health and safety, we recommend creating a backup before you perform it. Learn more about the benefits of regular backups.

Another option is to create a staging site and perform the troubleshooting there. Staging sites allow you to do all the testing without impacting your live site. You can then apply the changes to the production site when all works as intended. Some popular web hosts offer quick setups for a staging site, so please contact your web host for assistance.

Alternative options to set up a staging environment
If your web host does not offer staging sites, the WordPress plugin repository offers staging plugins, or you can create your own staging site.`

    Hello!

We’re sorry you’re having trouble that might be caused by the Yoast SEO plugin. Let’s get to the bottom of it!

We checked the URL you provided using the Google Structured Data Testing Tool and it seems that the issue is related to the breadcrumb schema name field that isn’t being outputted. Do you have the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs enabled? If not, can you please implement the Yoast breadcrumbs and make sure that you configure the breadcrumb title for that specific page?

    Hello Ilan!

Thanks for getting back to us.

Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?Then check if the noindex tag is still there. If not, reactivate your other plugins one at a time and check if the issue occurs again for every plugin reactivated. Lastly, switch back to your theme.

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

If you do not feel comfortable to do this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.`

    Hello @boardboss!

They are reselling an identical version (or modified, as we have no control over it) of Yoast SEO Premium. Our plugins, along with the WordPress platform, are released under the GNU General Public License or GPL for short. The terms of the license allow the user the freedom to use, change, copy, or redistribute the plugin under the same license. Therefore, our products can legally be included on other websites. That being said, you take a gamble on the authenticity of the code you receive when purchasing from someone else as the GPL license allows the user to modify the code. Also, if you purchase our products from them, we cannot provide updates or support the same way as purchasing a premium plugin directly from our site. Please contact them directly should you have any concerns or issues with your purchase.

If you want to purchase an authentic version of Yoast SEO Premium which comes with free updates and personal support, you can do so here: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/`

    Hello @valdinia!

We can confirm that the filter you’re using to remove the title tag is correct. Where did you add the filter? Also, after adding the filter, you may need to clear your cache from your caching plugins, server, CDN like Cloudflare, and your browser.

    Hello @juanwp22!

Thanks for providing us sample URLs.

We checked the source code of the URLs you provided and compared the meta description with that of https://www.mysportoutdoors.com/page/3/, everything looks the same. You may need to send a request to Bing to recrawl the affected pages. Please follow the steps here.

    Hello @thetravelgal!

Can you please provide us the complete report you got from Wordfence? Also, while the Yoast SEO plugin you’re running is updated, your WordPress is not. You may need to update it to the latest version first.

    Hello @joelmellin!

Just to verify, are you seeing these warnings on product variations? If you are, unfortunately, none of our plugins output the right data for product variations. There’s already a feature request to have this added in Yoast WooCommerce SEO though but we don’t have an ETA as to when it will be implemented.

    Hello @z1an!

It appears that your Yoast SEO plugin isn’t updated. Can you please update Yoast SEO first? The latest version is 16.0.1. Once you’ve done that, please clear your cache again from your caching plugins, server, CDN like Cloudflare, and your browser.

    Let us know the result.

    Hello!

We’re sorry you’re having trouble using the Yoast SEO plugin.

This looks like a conflict indeed. Before we ask you to perform a conflict check, can you please make sure you’re running the latest version of WordPress, Yoast SEO, as well as the latest version of your theme and ALL other plugins?

If everything’s already updated on your end, please perform a conflict check. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Hello!

    Thanks for getting back.

Having the breadcrumbs show up on the search result is actually the preferred outcome as it means that Google understands your site structure and this is good for SEO. Unfortunately, this is out of our control. Google automatically modifies the search results based on many factors such as the search query being used and the device you’re using. You can contact Google for more information on how they decide which links to show on the search results. You can do so here.

    Hello!

We do not recommend using outdated versions of WordPress, including (our own) plugins and themes, for the reasons covered in?this article. Therefore, we’d recommend you update WordPress first.

As for your other concern, all your settings are saved in the database so even if you remove the plugin and install it again, your settings are safe.

    Hello!

Sorry for the trouble. Did you reset the Internal link counter, Prominent words calculation, and Indexables tables & migrations? If not, please do so first. You may follow these steps:

    1. Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
    2. Locate the Yoast SEO section and select the ‘Reset Internal link counter,’ ‘Reset Prominent words calculation,’ and ‘Reset Indexables tables & migrations’ buttons
    3. Once done, perform the data optimization again under SEO -> Tools.

    Does that resolve the issue?

    Hello!

Please refer to this developer guide to remove or add schema graph pieces to the Yoast plugin: https://developer.yoast.com/features/schema/api/#add-or-remove-graph-pieces

If you are not sure how to best edit the files, you may need to work with a developer to implement the changes you want.
