In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Search Index Purge Plugin and sitemapsHi Heather!
Installing the Search Index Purge Plugin will do the following:
– Every attachment URL will return a 410 status code.
– A static XML sitemap, containing all the attachment URLs on a given site will be created. The post modified date for each of those URLs is the activation date and time of the plugin. The XML sitemap with the recent post modified date will make sure that Google spiders all those URLs again. The 410 status code will make sure Google takes them out of its search results in the fastest way possible. After six months the attachment URLs should be gone from the search results.
As for your HTTP and HTTP sitemaps, a correct SSL migration should result in a redirect for each existing HTTP link of your website to its HTTPS equivalent. So there shouldn’t be an HTTP sitemap anymore. These redirects should be done at the server level and the Yoast SEO plugin is unable to create such type of redirects. You need to get in touch with your web host for assistance.
For more information on HTTP to HTTPS migrations, we recommend the following guides:

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] sitemap_indexHello!
Thanks for getting back. I was able to replicate the issue on my end.
First of all, can you please make sure you’re running the latest version of WordPress (5.7.1), Yoast SEO (16.2), as well as the latest version of your theme and ALL other plugins? Please also check that your site meets our plugin requirements.
If everything’s updated on your end and your site meets our plugin requirements, we need you to perform a conflict check.
The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?So only the Yoast plugin is activated together with the Twenty-Twenty theme. Then load your sitemap. Does the issue occur? If not, reactivate your other plugins one at a time and check if the issue occurs again for every plugin reactivated. Lastly, switch to your theme.
Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.
As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.
If you do not feel comfortable to do this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.`

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] After every updateHello @erdincyildiz!
It’s possible that the conflict only occurs with versions 16.1 and 16.1.1. Just to verify, does the issue occur if only Yoast SEO (16.1.1), WooCommerce, and a standard theme are activated (WPML and all other plugins deactivated)?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Problem with store after update to V16.1.1Hello @dyin!
Thanks for getting back to us.
Is it correct to assume that the issue doesn’t occur if only Yoast, WooCommerce, and a default theme are activated?
Also, can you please make sure that your WordPress, theme, and ALL non-Yoast plugins are up-to-date?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Duplicate meta description issue in UbersuggestHello @pursuitofyappiness!
Thanks for getting back to us.
Please refer here to include screenshots in your reply.
As for your initial question, you’re correct. You don’t have to do anything about the duplicate meta description error on paginated archive pages.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] The editor has encountered an unexpected errorHello @courtsdesign!
Thanks for getting back to us.
We’ve seen similar issues in the past and it turned out that the issue is caused by a conflict. If you’ve already done a conflict check and the issue only occurs when Yoast is activated, can you please try clearing all your site’s cache?
Please clear your cache from your caching plugins, server, CDN like Cloudflare, and your browser. If you are not sure how to clear the cache from your caching plugin, please contact the plugin developer. If you’d like to clear the cache from your server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from your browser, use this guide. You may need to use another browser as well.
If it’s still the same, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Cart, Checkout, My account marked noindex, How to fix?Hello @samdee!
We don’t recommend having 2 separate sitemaps for your site. This will only confuse Google. So it’s either you use the Yoast sitemap and disable the other sitemap, or use the other sitemap and disable the Yoast sitemap.
