You beat me to it. I was thinking earlier after upgrading NextGen that I was going to go through the exercise of disabling everything except the essentials.

I wanted to let you know that I have updated NextGen Gallery to the latest build 2.0.40. This has had no effect on the auto-optimize issue that I am facing.

Yes, the user/group owner has permissions 755 to the folder. This is the same for all other folders in the plugin directory.

It did not. The file remains at a file sixe of zero.

Created debug.log in the root folder of EWWW Image Optimizer in the plugins folder

Sorry I do not see that file in the ewww-image-optimizer folder under plugins. Is it stored elsewhere?

I have verified that uploading images to the media library do auto-optimize.

I removed and re-installed the dev version of EWWW. Here is the New Debug Log

In regard to getting you copies of the 2 modified plugins, I do not have a standard packaged plugin. Can I just zip up the plugin folder and send that to you?

-this plugin allows integration of image search to the standard WordPress search

A modified version of Nextgen Gallery Search
-this plugin allows site admins to search for a gallery name to edit.

The modifications are to allow them to work with NextGen2.x
I can get you copies of these if you need them

It is the version that NextGen had me upgrade to in hopes to fix a thumbnail update issue I am having. It didn’t help and the edited thumbnail doesn’t show. I am assuming that they will be pushing it out soon.

Yes, I am using the html5 uploader.

I found that my issue was a plugin conflict. The plugin causing the issue was Google AdSense and Google Analytics Remover. I remove it and everything started working straight away. I am not sure why I still had this plugin still installed. ??

@afsnijders – That doesn’t seem to work for me. I uploaded the images to the correct gallery folder and then clicked the “scan folder for new images.” Is that how you are doing it?

I just noticed something else. Sometimes all the files upload and sometime not. I was starting to think upload 3 or less images, all are uploaded; upload 4 or more images, all but the last image is uploaded. However, I just had it happen on 2 images.

I neglected to mention that all the images that I work with are ~200K or smaller.

Thanks for the feed back. It seems the new update hasn’t resolved the issue either. @afsnijders – I will give that a try.
