This had happened before and deleting plug-ins was the eventual solution. What got me this time is that The only two I still had activated were “WordPress Database Backup” and “Akismet.” I deleted the database backup and updated “Akismet” and the problem went away.

Deleting a couple plug ins solved the problem.
