I’m having the same problem with utf-8 and german special characters after upgrading to WP1.2.
I changed WP to use iso-8859-1 in Options/Reading and in the templates. That helped but isn’t a real solution.

Had this too, but only with entries I had imported from MT. After upgrading to 1.2 this is gone.

This may happen only in installs that are in a sub directory of your site since the old code just points to “/wp-layout.css” which works for root directory installs.

BTW: MovableType uploads without a problem to a 755 directory on the same host.

I’m my own hosting provider ??
So any hint what to change in apache config would be great…
