I started this thread this to pass on my experiences – creating my own API key solved my problem so I marked the thread as resolved.
It was a bit of trial, error and guesswork as the example no longer matches the Google interface. From memory, I chose:
APIs and auth -> Credentials – -> Add Credentials -> API Key -> Server KeyThe IP Address field was left blank.
I was using the latest version of Google Calendar Events (I’d previously updated it to see if it fixed the problem, which it didn’t).
My new API key got it working straight away.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [BibleGateway VOTD] Open Links in New Tab/Pagedzaikos
Wow, that’s a comprehensive explanation of the options. Thanks for taking the time to put that together!I’d assumed it would be a reasonably easy change – I can see that it’s not. I don’t want to introduce any extra complexity to the site at the moment, so will bear your resolutions in mind for the time that I get significant user feedback on it.
Incidently, is there any copyright reason for having the three separate links at the end of the verse? They seem to pretty much duplicate themselves, with the “BibleGateway.com” one displaying the verse of the day anyway (albeit not necessarily in the bible version in use). Having all three looks cluttered, particularly if the verse is a short one.

In reply to: [File Away] When not using Flightbox, always open in new tab?Oh dear, that really was the dumb question of the week… I looked at every option in the File Away Attributes tutorial, but completely missed the “New Window” option glaring at me in the Basic Configuration tab.
Sorry to waste your time.
I like this plugin more and more – very versatile.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Download Monitor] Open Files (mainly .pdf) in New Browser Tab for ViewingBarry,
I’ve just tried the Redirect to file option. Like the info by the clickbox says “If the dlm_upload folder is protected you may need to move your file” – I did have to create a new folder within the wp-content/uploads/ folder otherwise there was a permissions issue.I’d previously had no idea what this option was for…
Anyway, it worked and all the usual functions – save link as, open, open in new tab – seem to work as expected.
Great, thanks for your help – I’ll have a more detailed play with it.
BTW,there seems to be an issue with removing files from a download – they initially seem to delete, but when the page is updated they come back again. I had to trash the download completely and setup a new one.
Yes, works perfectly for me – many thanks!!

In reply to: [Kebo Twitter Feed] Removing Reply, Retweet and FavoriteHi Peter
Thanks for the rapid update – works fine for me. Just what was needed. Tried it on my test site alresfordgolftest.co.uk – great plugin for those of us that just want to display tweets without any complex integration.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Kebo Twitter Feed] Removing Reply, Retweet and FavoriteJust a little addendum – it was easy to remove the buttons via CSS:
.kfooter { display: none; }
But an option to not display them would be cleaner.

In reply to: [Kebo Twitter Feed] Removing Reply, Retweet and FavoriteAnother usage example…
I’m the webmaster for my golf club alresfordgolf.co.uk and have been looking for a way of easily allowing the greens staff to update a short message with the current status of the course. E.g. “The course is open – no restrictions”, “The course is closed due to fog”, “The course is open – no buggies” etc. etc.
I don’t need or want any other buttons. Before likely settling on Twitter, I tested adding posts via email and allowing restricted access to just edit one post. Twitter has the wide device support and simple message format that looks the most promising.
