Hello again: I am in a desperate need of help over this issue of widgets on my site. As I said in my earlier reply, I identified the plugin that prevented me from accessing the manage with preview link: but when I get there, I am unable to activate the blog sidebar or the footer 1 or 2. When I activate any of these, I am taken out of the site, and put on the desktop. I tried several times, but the result is always the same. I’ve already deactivated all the plugins, but the problem still persists. I’ve not yet learnt how to use both the PHP My Admin, and the FTP, although I can use the FTP to upload files. They are highly graphical. Working on the themes has also not been effective,k because it is also graphical. So, can anyone consider helping me to work on the site directly, and help me fix this issue? I am prepared to give any such person my password, and I will immediately change it once work is completed. I’ve just updated my site to the latest version which is 4.8.1. I did this about an hour ago.

As suggested, I did delete most of the plugins I installed, and I found one that prevented me from accessing the manage live preview. But the problem now is, when I activate the manage live view, and I am put on the custom menu, when I activate either footer 1 or 2, or the blog widget I am taken off the site and put on the desktop. I don’t understand why this is happening. I’ve done a screenshot of the page, I hope I actually did it.

    Hi Eric:
I thank you very much for your kind response, and the link you gave me to the tutorial on how to create a menu. I have indeed created the menu to add the pages on my website, and the pages are now on my site. I am indeed very grateful.

    Hello:
This topic is not closed yet. I’m sorry I couldn’t respond yesterday.
Actually, I can access my pages on my dashboard: but the problem is that the pages cannot be accessed when the real site is opened. That is at the moment no visitor can access the pages on my site, when they open it. All they can find is the introductory post on the site. There is nothing more on the site. I have about 7 pages on that site, and none of them is visible on the site, when a visitor opens it. I didn’t set the visibility to private, it is set to public: so I just don’t understand what is happening.
    Please help.

    Hello:
The bulk delete plugin is very effective for deleting spam posts pages users and others. I had problems with the plugin, because my website’s server didn’t have file permissions, making it difficult for me to access plugins, and even doing updates successfully.
But all that has now been resolved. I highly recommend the plugin.
I thank you most sincerely for the information about the plugin.

    Hello again:
The issue was resolved a few weeks ago by my hosting company. They’ve assisted me in the installation of the WP admin folder, which I just couldn’t do by myself, because of my visual impairment. My site is now running without any more issues. Thank you for your support.

Thanks: I’ve installed the bulk delete plugin, but I’ve found out that it is incompatible with Mozilla Firefox. I attempted using it twice, but it crashed my browser. Has anyone ever had this problem with this plugin or any other? if you have how did you get around it.
Added to this, do you know of any plugin that blocks spam posts?
Looking forward to reading your kind response.

    Hello:
I am back with this issue.
The last time I posted this issue, I deleted the posts manually. There are now new spam posts. I have well over 5 thousand of them right now. I’ve deleted the users, and the posts associated with them. But the posts are still on my site: please how can I remove them. I can only remove 22 at a time. This manual removal is causing me real time and effort. Please kindly help out.

    Hello again:
I’ve been on a course for some weeks and I’ve not been able to get on to the forum. But my current problem remains unresolved.
Actually, I did successfully delete the WP admin folder, but I just couldn’t upload the new one on to my server. I used file manager, but file manager couldn’t upload the folder: it only uploads files. As a blind computer user, I cannot perform mouse clicks, and so I got sighted assistance for this. My assistant couldn’t use the filezilla application to do an upload. He just didn’t know the exact point to put the newly copied WP admin folder. He doesn’t use the wordpress application, and so can’t help much.
    Based on a previous response,
” However, and as someone who has only one eye that can read, I would guess the moderators here will not complain if I welcome you to find your way to one of my sites and send me an e-mail so we might try to get your site straight with a bit of help for you beyond these forums.”
I will very much appreciate this assistance, because I no longer have access to my sighted assistant. I need to start work on my site soonest.
    Please kindly help out.
    Thank you.

    Hello again:
Actually I’m now having two problems. I discovered when I was trying to do the upload, that the files and folders on my site, have been updated. The updates took place on 12/30/2014, well over two weeks after the fatal error problem started. So, all the files and folders are up to date, but the problem still persists.
Secondly, I use filezilla to access my server from my local computer, as instructed by my service provider. But I cannot find any option to delete anything. The option I find is to overwrite the files.
So, in view of these two circumstances, what do I do now. I just don’t know how to get around this problem now. Please help out.
    Thanking you again.

    Hello again:

    Hello again:
    Thanks for all your support.
I just want to know if I can get back to my previous version of wordpress. Actually, I’ve tried out the different ways outlined by you chaps, but I am still unable to get it right. I don’t have any knowledge about fixing problems like this, and at the same time, it will require visual work, which I cannot do because I am blind. I did contact my hosting company for help, and they don’t appear to want to help.
On the other hand can I get direct help from wordpress on my site? please do let me know. Thanking you again.

Hello again: Thanks for your response.
Actually, I’ve just gotten two emails from some people claiming to be able to fix the problem for me, but I will have to pay them. They are asking me for my login password in to the dashboard, and my CPanel password. I have refused to give out these details, because I don’t trust the authenticity of these people. their email address is:

    [ Redacted ]

They claim to be a part of the WordPress support team.
Do you know these people. Are they authentic wordpress support technical team. Please do let me know. Thank you.
