I reply to my previous post because my previous explanation is not so right. Here is my test.

I removed all the plugins which was desactivated.

I changed the Media settings in the WordPress settings:
    Medium size > 1200
    Large size > 2048
    Saved changes.

I got these files on the FTP after the 21322_alt10.jpg file ulpoad:
    21322_alt10-150×150.jpg
    21322_alt10-768×581.jpg
    21322_alt10-1200×908.jpg
    21322_alt10-1536×1162.jpg
    21322_alt10-1980×1498.jpg
    21322_alt10-2048×1549.jpg
    21322_alt10.jpg

    When i insert the image and select “Medium” (so 1200 with the new media settings), it displays the original in front end ;
When i insert the image and select “Large” (so 2048 with the new media settings), it displays the original in front end too!
The Thumbnail is the only thing that works fine…

Don’t know what to do now…

    Hello @a2hostingrj,

I’m referring to the image in the post. I tried to change the image alignment from “Wide width” to “Center”, but the issue is still there. You can check the first image of the 2 bunnies in my previous link.

Inserting the image in the back office loads the 1024 image, but when saving and switching to the front office, the original size is still loaded.

Maybe this can help: on my Retina MacBook Pro, the original (1920 px) is loaded in front end ; on my iPad, the original is loaded too ; but on my iPhone 6, there is no issue : the large image (1024 px) is well loaded…

The width of the center image displayed on my Macbook Pro is 580 px, but at this size, the Retina screen requires 1160 px (580 x2), which is more than the 1024 px width file. As a matter of fact, maybe WordPress loads the larger file. Does it make sense?
