In reply to: [Twenty Fourteen] How does one multiple h1s from blog home page/Lol.
I figured it out. It’s so stupid. But of course if I never chatted with you I wouldn’t of come to the ah ha moment ??
It was the content.php file
God know why I didn’t see it sitting in my theme directory. I sat there scouring all the other files, adding them to my child theme to see if it was it…
Dang. Thanks!

In reply to: [Twenty Fourteen] How does one multiple h1s from blog home page/Yep. Got it. Make changes to child theme. That’s what’s weird. I’ve changed every instance of H1 in all those content-_____.php files and nothing happens. I almost thought it was some weird caching issue on my end, but that’s not it either.

In reply to: [Twenty Fourteen] How does one multiple h1s from blog home page/Yep. I know how to make templates and child themes. But I can’t figure out how to find what’s displaying the H1s on the default blog home page for the 2014 theme. Scoured the code for hours. Can’t figure it out. It’s usually not to hard to find this stuff. Perhaps I’m missing something. If anyone can help, that would be awesome!

In reply to: 2014 Theme – How do you remove drop down menu functionalityI have created a child theme, and so far the only difference between my child theme and the rest of the site are simple styling changes.
So how do I remove the drop down functionality?
Again, I’m specifically looking for a plugin that takes care of this. It’s a lot faster to use plugins when you manage several sites and future sites as well…

In reply to: Hardcode RSS Feed Title Tag ContentI appreciate your effort on my problem. That solution though is a huge SEO no-no. I was at SES San Jose this summer and this exact solution you are presenting was being projected in front of thousands of SEOs with the words “DO NOT DO THIS” written across the top of the slide :).
I agree this solutions shouldn’t be a penalty. Because sometimes we need to tweak our stupid CMSs to get it to work they way we need it to. I wouldn’t say this is Blackhat, but it’s definitely Grey.
Again, all I want to do is to just hardcode the <title></title> of my feed page. I tried and tried to modify all kinds of files in WordPress and I can’t find what controls that tiny piece of source code.

In reply to: Hardcode RSS Feed Title Tag ContentMy header is in place and the title and meta descriptions are in place on all my pages, so that’s not a problem. If you check the source code every thing is fine.
All I want to do is hardcode my rss title and I will be done with this problem.
And hiding content is a good seo idea? That’s been bad news since 1998. Unless you mean hide the site title and tagline from even showing up on the source code, then that would be fine…
Ok I added back the blog title for the time being,
