I feel like Batman (1989 Michael Keaton) figuring out which combinations of cosmetics are safe and which combinations will kill you… while putting a smile on your face.

I think I’ve found a combination of enabled/disabled plugins that play nice together… disabling NextGEN gallery to fix the File Away styles (but breaking the social sharing plugin), then disabling the calendar and image slider which appears to fix the social sharing.

From what I can tell, IE9 looks good now, and even ol’ IE8 is mostly intact (just no icons)… but I’m not worried about IE8’s 1% market share and already alert those users to upgrade.

Does it look okay on your end? Based on the screenshots I think we may be okay. And File Away survives yet another test intact.

    Nice – where from?

Ah, I found the culprit — NextGEN Gallery v 2.0.59. It does not want to play nice with File Away. As soon as I disable NextGEN on the document list pages, the styling shows up fine in IE9. So no worries, I can just disable that plugin on those specific pages and we should be fine.

Funny enough, DISabling the gallery also jacks up the social share buttons you mentioned… enable the gallery and the social buttons come back fine… but that’s a whole other matter. ?? I think I have some plugin conflict stuff to work out.

Hmm, I wonder if I have some plugins or something breaking that page. Sounds like something I need to dig into and work out since your plugin appears to work just fine. You’ve done enough — go make a movie or something!

I haven’t been able to duplicate it myself, but I ran some browser screenshot tests online and did come up with this:

which looks like the screenshot that was emailed to me.

And FINE, I’ll take that capitalization update, but I’m NOT going to like it! ??

Awesome. Everything I’ve used is working great… no bugs, and you’re really piling up the featureset on this thing. ??

Just sent over a small donation to express my appreciation for the work you put into this. You saved me from having to manually create hundreds of sub-pages and I know this will come in handy for other users as well. May the cash help fund something for your movies, your daughter, or a Sizzler gift card.

Awesome, man. I just installed 1.7 and this is it. The motherload. The Big One.

I’ll post any more thoughts/feedback as soon as I get a chance to try it out more. But just dropping the update in there, it looks like this plugin is doing everything everyone has been asking about, and then some. The subdirectory functionality looks golden, and I’m pretty positive this is the first and only WP plugin to accomplish this. I think a lot of people will be happily downloading it.

I’m just speaking for myself here, but I would like to take you out to a nice dinner at Sizzler.

Hey Thom, I just added pagination to a page with a lot of files, and my first reaction when I changed to the final page with less files (so the list was shorter) was that the list had disappeared. I then realized it was because it changed to the shorter list but stayed at the bottom of the page which was now blank white space. Is there any way to make it so when you select a new page it jumps you to the top of the list? Or is that something you said was part of a 3rd party script?

I did find one other issue. There’s a good chance you’ve already tackled this faster than I found it :)… On a server with Frontpage extensions (gross), there is a _vti_cnf folder inside every folder on the server. I tried adding _vti_cnf to the “Excluded” list, but there doesn’t appear to be a way to hide these.

Also, I have the latest 1.5.1 that you uploaded… not sure which it is version/fix-wise, but in this one I am still unable to click the breadcrumb links. Default sort is now by name so it should be a newer (but not newest) version. Anyway, I remember you said you fixed that so it may just not be in the build that you last uploaded, but thought I’d toss it out there just in case. Thanks!

LOL – you have already fixed almost every single thing I was going to post!

I haven’t checked out the newest build yet, but I was coming back to post about the breadcrumb links not being clickable, an issue with the initial “secondary” sorting (after file type) not being alphabetical, and the folders not staying fixed at the top of the list. Sounds like you’ve already taken care of those. Well done, sir. I do have a few other notes:

    1) Bug – files and folders with apostrophes in the name will not load. A file named John’s_List.doc or a folder called /John’s Files will get cut off at /John. Files will return a File Not Found error, while folders will just keep loading the current page.

    2) The folders are displaying with the full underscored folder name. i.e. 2013_MEETING_FILES, rather than the cleaned-up “2013 Meeting Files” format that the actual documents/files show.

    3) Speaking of formatting, this may be a pro/con gray area… for us, at least, we have a ton of files that have the date as part of the filename… i.e. Organizational_Report_2-8-13.pdf. Because the cleaned-up name strips underscores AND hyphens, the filenames look strange… i.e. Organizational Report 2 8 13. I suppose there’s no way to NOT strip the hyphens? If not it’s not the end of the world; I wouldn’t want to screw up something somewhere else in the plugin. ??

But everything is looking awesome. I know I (and others) really appreciate everything you’re doing.
