In reply to: Upgrading from 2.0.2Thanks, HandySolo!
Neville, did you follow the upgrade to 2.0.2 to 2.0.3 instructions?
I realize our great volunteers at WP haven’t had a chance to get everything changed yet to show the 2.0.4 release. Not a problem, just being cautious here.

In reply to: Spam? Read this.Re: my Askimet/API key problem above, the API key was showing valid again the day and Askimet began catching spam again. Apparently my API key was not working for several days. I have no idea how it got fixed.
Askimet does a great job when it works. My solution was to install Bad Behaviour and Spam Karma for backup, but do not have them activated. Less stuff to keep up with, less chance of filtering out good comments, and I can always activate them if Askimet fails again.

In reply to: Spam? Read this.Seems odd coincidence that Askimet has been missing so much spam in recent days after such a good track record, and now I find my Askimet thinks my API key is invalid now. I wonder if that has been “invalid” to Askimet several days also.
Thanks for responding though. I am not using any other spam program, but saw where Podz was recommending Bad Behaviour as well as Spam Karma at the beginning of this thread. Interesting that they can all be used together, I will have a look.

In reply to: Spam? Read this.I have been successfully using Askimet since Jan. on two blogs. Askimet has not been catching spam successfully in the past few days. Now I see that the Askimet configuration tells me my Api Key appears to be invalid.
I can still log into the my account at wordpress.com and it shows this is still my Api Key. I’ve not used the blog I created in Jan to get the Api Key, as I have my blogs on my own site.
I try updating the API number but it still says invalid. Do they expire after a time?

In reply to: Categories on the flyOk, thanks. I was hoping maybe typing something like
parent: subcategory
or parent/subcategory
or some such would do it. Perhaps in the next version. But it’s still a great improvement, and as you said, I can always go back and make it a child category later.Lois

In reply to: 2 blogsOk, will do. Thank you!
Forum: Alpha/Beta/RC
In reply to: 2 blogsOk I think I got it. I don’t have to change anything with my existing blog, but would need to change the wp-config for the second blog before I installed it if in the same database.
I think I may have more than one database allowed at that domain, will check and see first.
You’ve been a great help! Thank you.

In reply to: 2 blogsOk sounds great. I see the stuff I entered in MySQL when I set it up there also.
So if I changed it to wp1 would my admin login still be https://myblog/wp-admin or would it change to https://myblog/wp1-admin?
Also, would I have to log into https://myblog/wp-config and reconfigure anything after I changed it, or am I done after I change the table prefix in wp-config and upload?
Sorry so many questions, this is all new to me. Thanks for your help.
Forum: Alpha/Beta/RC
In reply to: 2 blogsWhere is the table prefix? Are you talking about in WP-admin or in MySQL? or PhpMyAdmin. I use CPanel and named the database different name than whatever default it offered in MySQL when I set it up. Is that what you are referring to?
WP has been my first experience with databases so I’m trying to figure it all out.

In reply to: RSS and Atom in subdomainI regenerated permalinks and everything seems fine. Double checked the htaccess after regenerating them and no files outside the WP tags.
thanks again, and please let moshu know that we got it fixed also, he was helping me in another thread when we were thinking it might be a subdomain problem. I really appreciate all of you.

In reply to: Next page link wont work on home pageI think you figured it out, Macmanx! Thanks!
I deleted those outside files and have not yet re-generated permalinks, but the next page and rss seem to work fine.
I’ll plan to update the permalinks just in case something needs re-writing, but thought you may like to see the results of deleting those files before I update them. I have no idea how those files got there.
