It seems like your whole site has Java script issue. These are all signs of java script not working properly. What you are telling me are basic things which works for almost everyone.
Could you please uninstall all other plugins from your site.
Let me know how u go after that.

Nah it wont copy from your theme folder. In such case what i suggest, you make your changes and keep a copy of the css file in your computer somewhere else.

Whenever you get a update, you just have to copy it from that location.

This is actually your theme issue. I cant reproduce it with many other themes i tried.
