hi, i deleted all the wordpress files, downloaded a fresh version and uploaded it minus the wp-content folder. when i refreshed my dashboard it then said i was missing some files and asked me to enter my database details, which i did, clicked proceed and then nothing, just a session timed out notification in the browser. i tried a few times and the end result was always the same.

my wordpress has been installed via an application offered with my web hosting, it uploads fine and then prompts me to update to the latest version, which i do. ive done this three or four times now and its always the same outcome with no images in the visual tab, just the html in white (i only noticed it was there by mistakedly double clicking in the box which highlighted it).

Anyway… oh what to do!?

hi there, thanks for replying. ok, so i dont have any plugins. i started off with twentyten and switched to see if it rectified the problem. I just tried it with Twenty Ten again, and others, but same problem. very odd!

Ok, so in all fairness, im none too familiar with ‘Li’ (!), i presume it is something to do with lists?

hey there! thanks for your reply. I did as you suggested but for some reason it made them into a bullet-point list, and also shifted the list slightly to the right.

hi esmi, thanks loads that’s worked, so far (!), i just reread my posting realized ive miss out a fair chunk of what i am actually trying to achieve, further to what you have helped me do so far, i hope you can me with this too?!

Now i have lost the text header, i would like to place a logo/banner i have uploaded to wordpress, underneath the navigation bar. I wanted to leave a little space between the bar and the new banner, so they dont look ‘connected’ as one image.

Secondly, with regard to the extended post section. i want to lose it as a ‘list’ and just have these links appearing as a normal sentence would read. I have it left justified but i want to lose the indentation. Finally (!), I want to lose the tags link altogether.
