In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Old backups not deletedHi JP,
This was in answer to your earlier question,
‘Which item in the release notes contains the fix? None of the mentioned tweaks seem to be related to this issue?’.
What I’ve said is I think the release notes don’t have the details so I’m looking for them.
Apologies, the terminology I used is from the development process so may be unfamiliar.
Best regards,

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Old backups not deletedHi JP,
Apologies, it looks like that fix Merge Request was not added to the readme file.
I’m checking internally to see if I can find some more information on this for you.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Scheduled Backups Do Not RunHi Simon,
Thank you for letting us know about this, it’s very helpful to be aware of such issues.
My apologies, I really should have asked you about a plugin or theme conflict before.
It’s harder providing support here as we’re more limited as to what we can see or do.
All the same, unless otherwise indicated, a plugin/theme conflict test is a good start.
Best regards,

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Old backups not deletedHi JP,
Apologies for the delay. I was going to reply yesterday but wanted to check with a developer.
I’ve contacted them this morning and hope to be able to provide you an update very shortly.
I don’t want to keep you waiting, I just want to make sure that I’m giving you the correct info.
Best regards,

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Old backups not deletedHi there,
The .part files are partially completed downloads, which is why they were not cleared up.
I believe I’m correct in saying that the extension wouldn’t be recognized for the clean up.
The error messages also imply there is an issue with the process of creating the .zip files.
Are the messages from your recent backups or from those where the .part files occurred?

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] woocommerceHi Trish,
As per my message. Yes, those items are backed up. You do have to backup all the correct files.
This means you should backup the database, plugins, themes and uploads to save all the data.
With the complete file set you should be able to restore the woocommerce store completely.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] one.comHi there,
Thank you for letting us know about this.
Having looked at the site it appears they promote their own competing services.
On the same website page, ‘you can use our add-on product Backup & Restore’.
One.com has not contacted us regarding any of the concerns they highlighted.
Most of the concerns appear to relate to limitations of the hosting service itself.
‘High server load, Performance issues, Compatibility issues’ are some examples.
If they’re providing low specification servers, any plugin may cause them issues.
They ‘discourage’ rather than prohibit certain plugins, you can use UpdraftPlus.
Whether using UpdraftPlus will expose any server limitations is another question.
I hope this does not turn out to be the case.
Best regards,
NickHi there,
Thank you for the link and information. It’s very helpful to me.
On the page I could check the code and found the media items are not in uploads.
To solve this you could restore only uploads from your most recent file backup set.
Provided the images haven’t been deleted they should then be available in uploads.
For example, images in ‘Our Most Selling’ should be in the uploads/2021/10/ folder.
Please can you give this a try and let me know if the fix works.
Best regards,

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] I don’t understand a messageHi there,
The message is just asking you to leave a positive review if you like our plugin.
By ‘a gardé votre site en sécurité’ it actually means managing your backup data.
The English version would say ‘keeping your site safe’ (by managing backups).
‘Safe’ in this context means you can always restore your data after any problem.
Best regards,
NickHi there,
Thank you, I’m happy to be of assistance.
The log files appear to be from your backups as there is no reference to any restore processes.
Is the page where the images are missing available for me to view? That would also be helpful.
Best regards,
NickHi there,
Thank you for the background information regarding the problem.
Could you provide the restore log file using PasteBin for example?
The details in this file will help us to identify any potential issues.
Best regards,
NickThank you!
It’s a bit of a specialized question so this site may be best: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/
Best regards,
NickHi there,
As this is the support page for a backup and migration plugin you’ll likely not get help.
You’d be better off asking in a more topic related web forum or perhaps Stack Overflow.
Best regards,
Nick
