Awesome!! Thanks so much esmi. I had the exact same issue and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. I’ve been trying to figure out a fix for a couple days… and likewise did everything I could find (I just found this post thankfully).
I’m also on Dreamhost.

Mike E. – can you keep us posted on if you all fix the issue for dreamhost customers? And if we should ever remove that added piece of code or what else you’d recommend? Yall are always so helpful.

I’m in the same boat. I simply CANNOT get those damn ‘leave a reply’ messages to disappear. I’ve since read every post on the matter and have done everything short of editing my .php files.

I’ve done the option listed above, confirmed everything in the settings->discussion is unchecked and meticulously gone through each individual page to confirm that their Screen Options are indeed unchecked.

Is this a bug? Am I the only one who can’t seem to figure this out? Please help!!
