In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Conflict with GenerateBlocks Headline linksFor anyone else looking at this it seems Yoast have now fixed the issue in version 14.5
They have this in the changelog:‘Fixes a bug where inline link functionality in custom blocks could be missing.’
Obviously there were enough other reports of conflicts so they had to take it seriously

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Conflict with GenerateBlocks Headline linksNot sure that you actually understand that it is your plugin that is at fault. No problem – I’ll just wait until others complain and then you’ll fix it.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Conflict with GenerateBlocks Headline linksThanks for reply.
My WordPress Version is 5.4.2As I’ve already explained with Yoast disabled the issue goes away
With Yoast 14.3, the issue goes away.
It was the update from 14.3 to 14.4.1 that causes the issue.
The GenerateBlocks plugin author has said:
It’s something they’ll definitely need to fix. It seems to happen when a block defines its own allowedFormats in the richText component.
There must be plenty of custom block plugins out there that define their own allowedFormats so you’d potentially have an issue with other plugins as well.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Bug with “advanced” tab@mikes41720, @tacoverdo
I commented here as my issue is the SAME as the original posterIf I set:
“Security: no advanced settings for authors” to ‘off’ then I can’t see the ‘advanced’ tab and I am an admin. If I set “Security: no advanced settings for authors” to ‘on’, then I (as admin) can see the advanced tab. (I have not checked the situation for authors)
I have tried this with all other plugins disabled – the problem remains
I found this post as I was trying to work out why I couldn’t see the advanced tab.
I do not need the setting of “off” , so I am happy to have it ‘on’ and this solves it for me but obviously doesn’t remove the bug. This is on my local test site.
I have now just updated the Yoast plugin on my remote dev site and it now has the same issue.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Download Manager] can you put a comment in shortcode@shafayat-alam
Perfect! Thank you so much.I did not know about the Gutenberg block – that is an even better solution to the problem! I was not using Gutenberg but I can turn it on for the download pages – a perfect solution.

In reply to: [Download Manager] can you put a comment in shortcodeIf I write it like this :
this is my package [wpdm_package id=79 template="link-template-default.php"]
Then the words ‘this is my package’ appear on the website. I don’t want that
I only want the words in the editor so I know what the packages are when I’m editing
This :
[wpdm_package id=79 template="link-template-default.php" "this is my package"]
is exactly what I want.
I don’t need anything else
It does what I want.
I don’t need the words ‘this is my package’ to be added by the shortcode. I’m happy to type them in
My question is:
Will it casue errors?
Thanks

So is this OK?
