In reply to: [FAQ Concertina] Help translate FAQ Concertina into your languageHi Michael,
the translation is done. I need another few days to do some testing. I want to make sure everything makes sense and there are no typos in the strings.
I will come back to in a few days.
best regards

In reply to: [Newsletters] German translation fileHi,
I renamed the folder to wp-mailingslist. That’s all I needed to do. It’s working fine now.BTW – under config System WP there is no language setting to check.
best regards

In reply to: [Newsletters] German translation filethere is a typo – the directory is not /wp-content/plugins/newsletter.lite/languages, it is /wp-content/plugins/newsletter-lite/languages

In reply to: [WP-Members Membership Plugin] Change Language FileI have done a good portion of the translation to de_DE_formal already, but it is not complete yet. I believe the pot file I had access to wasn’t complete.
I used poedit (standalone exe) primarily and in some cases locotranslate (Plugin). Both are working fine. Using these tools translations are easy done. You can check results immediately. Both btw create the mo file when you save the po file.
I believe you already know you need to set the WP language from ‘Deutsch’ to ‘Deutsch (Sie)’ if you use a de_DE_formal translation file. If not the ‘formal’ translation file is not recognized.

In reply to: [VS Knowledge Base] hide_empty=0 not workingHi Guido,
the theme I’m using is ‘Talon’ from athemes.com. They also offer demo content ttps://athemes.com/documentation/talon/#. I’m not sure if you need to download the demo content to get the custom post types.
May be this helps.

In reply to: [VS Knowledge Base] hide_empty=0 not workingHi Guido,
thanks for the reply. Yes I already figured that out earlier today (and I have it working!!). After loading new plugins, activating, deactivating and deleting them after testing I believe I got confused a bit with my implementation and didn’t think about the possibility custom post types using the default post categories.
Thanks for the nice plugin.
Best regards

In reply to: [VS Knowledge Base] hide_empty=0 not workingGuido,
one thing I want to add here. The theme I use comes with a plugin that installs “projects” which use the same categories as posts. In reverse, if I add projects and additional categories for them and do not use these categories for posts, the categories will show up with both [knowledgebase] and [knowledgebase hide_empty=0] and no posts will be listed.

In reply to: [VS Knowledge Base] hide_empty=0 not workingHi Guido,
thank you for your replies. I found it works as you outlined here.
I had an issue in my WordPress setup. I play around with various plugins, themes etc. in a WP implementation I set up for testing only. Somes of the categories show entries >0, although it’s nothing there. So your plugin shows the category names, but no entries, which is correct in these cases.
I’m sorry for the confusion.
Thanks

In reply to: [FAQ Concertina] Help translate FAQ Concertina into your languageHi Michael,
I’m not sure if the online translation platform is the way to go, if you are a sole translator, I believe it is a solution to prefer, if you are working as a team. I use “Poedit” and “loco translate”. It allows me to work much faster than online.
Anyway – The translation is almost done. The translation of the pot file is complete, except I am still struggeling if I should stay with the term “FAQ” or use as German translation “F&A” instead. But since the term is used only if you ar in admin mode and is not displayed to the outside world, it is a minor issue.
What is missing in the pot file are just a few lines or may be just words, like “numerical”, “alphabetical”, etc.
Bottom line, if I could get from you an up to date pot file, it would take me minutes to finish that up.

In reply to: [VS Knowledge Base] hide_empty=0 not workingHi Guido,
I’m confused. Your reply “…, it does display an empty (sub)category …” basically means the shortcode does NOT hide empty categories. I thought it would hide them.
I have a few empty categories. There is no difference in what I get between [knowledgebase] and [knowledgebase hide_empty=0]

In reply to: [FAQ Concertina] Help translate FAQ Concertina into your languageHi Michael,
I did use your pot file that downloads with the plugin to do a German po file, in a translation to formal German. I believe it then officially becomes -de_DE_formal.po/mo. I have set up a formal translation also in Github, you might want to look at.
I use the German po file in my website and work with it to find out if the translations are useful. I will do some cleanup over the next few days and over time make some changes in the wording as needed.
I noticed not all lines are in the current pot file. Poedit counts 77 lines, I believe the Github file is same size. Using the translated version of FAQ concerto some lines are in English still.
If you have an updated pot file I could translate the missing lines as well.

In reply to: [FAQ Concertina] Pagination for long listsHi Michael,
I don’t know how many FAQs your users typically insert, but if it gets to a longer list, a shortcode allowing to show all by category could be useful.
But also for me no priority

In reply to: [FAQ Concertina] use of order numberHi Michael,
yes, duplicate would be sufficient in most cases, if not all.
