Hi Troy,
Yes, the PRO version does have a feature to asynchronously update feeds that is not present in the free version. I’m not sure if it will resolve your issue without first trying it.
Most websites update their feeds automatically, but on some setups, the only way is to manually clear the cache or resave the feeds, and we do not currently have a workaround for this.
Please let me know if you have questions.Glad I could help, @dannyfoo! Should you have any other questions or run into issues in the future don’t hesitate to reach back out as we are always happy to help.
Many thanks!
Hi @sammysamp,
Currently, our plugin only gets the main post caption and not the alt text. This was an API limitation in the past but there may now be an opportunity to improve this.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am checking with my colleagues to get more details on this.?I’ll get back to you as soon as I have an update; thank you in advance for your patience.?If you have any additional thoughts or questions in the meantime, please let me know.?Best regards,

Hi @dannyfoo,
The Reset error log button clears any cached errors displayed on the notifications at the top of the page in your WordPress admin area. Only messages for errors that are resolved but still held by cache will be cleared. There is also another log related to feed error which you can view by doing the following:
- Go to your WordPress dashboard > Instagram Feed and click on the “Help” button in the upper right corner of the page. This takes you to our?Support page.??
- Scroll down to the?System Info?section on the Support page and click “expand”
- Inside the System Info there will be an Errors section where you can view a list of errors
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Regards ??
Hi @itspaul,
Thank you for contacting us! The account connection (API) wasn’t working on Instagram. Unfortunately, this affected all apps trying to connect to Instagram and was out of our control. I checked just now, and the API seems to be back to normal. Please try connecting your Instagram account again.
If you still can’t connect your Basic/Personal feed, please submit a support request via the form on our website,?https://smashballoon.com/support/, and include the System Info.?

Hi @ketankoranne,
Thank you for the valuable insight. We currently don’t have a plugin to display LinkedIn Feeds.
I have registered this as a feature request which means that this will be considered in the future when we are adding new features. As we do get many user requests for features, we consider these depending on the number of user requests, feasibility, and the development time required for implementation.
Thank you!
Hey @dirkwethington,
Glad I could help! Do not hesitate to reach out if you need help or have any questions.
Hi @dirkwethington,
Yes, Facebook privacy policy requires that you be a page admin to connect external apps link the Facebook Feed to your page. Alternatively, you can make your client an admin on your website and have them create feed sources on your website. This article gives a little more detail on what you can do: How to create an Access Token to Manually connect a Facebook Page – Smash Balloon
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.Hi @janhenrydesign,
Thank you for contacting us. For the “Serve Scaled Images” images issue, you can try explicitly setting the thumbnail size of the image in the feed settings. To do this open the feed customizer and go to Customize > Posts > Images and Videos and Videos and select a thumbnail size that’s smaller than or equal to the image size displayed on your feeds. Regarding “Image elements do not have explicit width and height“, I am checking with my colleagues to get more details on this.?I’ll get back to you as soon as I have an update; thank you in advance for your patience.?If you have any additional thoughts or questions in the meantime, please let me know.?hey @tkapenga,

Unfortunately, we do not have a way to automatically create embeds without connecting to Meta business profile. As a workaround, you can manually create an Oembed by copying the embed code from an instagram post and pasting it into a post as a custom HTML block. Screencast: https://a.supportally.com/v/NOaJ6o
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Hi @cheets_uk,
Thank you for contacting us! For Oembeds, Instagram requires you connect to Facebook using the meta graph API. For this, you will need to create an Instagram Business profile that is connected to a Facebook page. Please follow this guide for how to create an Instagram business profile:?Instagram Business Profiles. Once your Instagram page is connected to a facebook page, you can then activate Oembeds from your Instagram Feed Oembed setting page.
