Hi have updated WordPress tonight and i have the above issue where the Add Shortcode pop up will not go and is right across the editing area which means i can no longer edit of write pages.

How do i get rid of this

Same issue only resolved if i disable wordfence
Still not aware of a resolution to this ongoing issue.

Edmon Parker the developer has more or less fixed the issue for me and is really helpful. On every minor glitch but certainly ok to put on a website.

Really pleased I stuck with this solution.

Many thanks working on my Samsung S5 but must be an issue with the ipad as sometimes it works and sometimes not. To be sure I have added a menu of links on the Sirmoor Rifles Association(SRA) page in case by mistake a reader has a problem with a touch screen.

Update: media library in grid view now working after going back to a Backup Buddy backup taken a week ago.

Everything else suggested failed.

I doubt my host is using cache methods also the media files used to show up in grid view.

ok I have found my browser console and it shows roughly 1600 lines of code for the page I am trying to open for the media library grid page but I cannot see how I would see an error.

Dear Motaz thank you for your quick response. I have tried regenerating thumbnails and no change. I am not sure where I find the browser console to check for errors. (I am pretty new to WordPress as previously worked on Serif Webplus and Joomla for the charity sites I run FOC.) So always very grateful for help.

Hi Contentiskey and Sunny – thanks for your suggestions which I am looking at now. Have got my child theme working now need to see how best to customise it with things like on page menus; change colour of menu font, change size of menu boxes etc.

Dear Michael that is fantastic thank you very much. I am still not sure what went wrong but following your instructions my child theme is now activated.

I got volunteered into building websites for various Gurkha Charities 6 years ago and started off with Serif Webplus then Joomla and now they have asked me to change all their sites to WordPress so having to learn all over again. Amazing that one hour of free service 6 years ago has led to my near on full time doing this foc. Oh well a good cause.

I needed to have some bespoke menus on particular pages and needed to create a few lines of code to go into the themes function php file.
