Just with a quick review I would say that you solution is quiet nice BUT your function is called late after all shortcodes are rendered.

So, just call do_shortcode() function right before returning the content and it should work.

I check the Wiktionary at some pages and found out that they have almost never an introducing text. That’s why I just the attribute

section

in the shortcode to request the first section. This works pretty fine, e.g.

[wiki base=”NARY” section=”English”]surname[/wiki]

Is this a good solution for you?

I check the wanted page: You have to setup up

as the base at the settings page! Than you can use this shortcode for setting the tooltip:

[wiki]Apocalypto[/wiki]

Ok, ich habe das neue System halbwegs durchdrungen und für das Plugin im Classic-Blog umgesetzt! Das Update ist online und ich muss nur noch die Sprache aktualisieren ??

Ja, genau: Es funktioniert technisch einwandfrei, nur die übersetzung wird irgendwie anders behandelt. Hatte schon gestern über 2 Stunden versucht, dahinter zu steigen. Bisher leider ohne Erfolg ?? Aber, ich bleibe dran!

wie ich gerade gesehen haben, kann man mein TinyMCE Plugin weiterhin in den Klassik-Bl?cken finden. Einfach mit /classic einfügen und dann gibt es an der bekannten Stelle das grüne Icon.

Dort gibt es zwar noch Probleme mit der übersetzung. Das will ich aber in den n?chsten Tagen gefixt haben…

Thank you for the feedback! Currently I am working on a new version that works fine with WP 5.x. In my test environment I could not see any issues loading the tooltips!

Can you give me a deeplink of your site where I can see a not-working tooltip?
