Thank you for your update which I have found helpful! I thought it was a typo when I read “mytheme/tribe/events/” and so created file under “tribe-events/”.

Managed to sort the issue out finally! Not quite sure what the issue was exactly, I took everything apart, checked everything in the functions.php file, re-enqueued scripts, went through my jQuery file with a fine tooth comb. Interestingly in the beginning when I removed the blog section from the front page the error no longer appeared. But I started from the top down with the functions and jQuery and when re-inserting the blog no more errors, thank goodness!!
