Sorry that there was no answer for over a month, but I’m not checking emails regarding the plugin anymore as other guys should be doing this.

Sadly, these guys don’t keep on development and I’ve really no free time to do this stuff by myself. There are other projects … I’ll move to a new flat etc. and I tried everything possible to keep this plugin alive.

I tried to find some new developers who would take care of it and 2 people (one of them owner of a web development company) promised a lot. All these promises have been lies – as we all can see right now. I even did a complete rewrite half a year ago to get some new features in there and thought it would be more interesting for future developers then … but no one seems really interested in doing this job.

As I’ve no time to look for another developer and give him/her the chance to keep it alive I’ll send an email to the www.remarpro.com team to get the plugin removed from the official repository soon.

Sorry – I’m really sad to see this project die.

good news now – as I found a new developer who will work on the plugin from now on. I hope the bug with not working Amazon Keys will be fixed soon so that all of you can use the plugin as expected.

I tried to find a new developer some time ago and the plugin died, so I did an almost complete rewrite of the plugin which works fine on thousands of installations right now.

I’ve no idea what’s the problem with the Amazon API. It seems as if only some people from the US and UK are having trouble with authentication and I would do my best – if there would be free time.

If anyone is interested in doing (really) good work – please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

Right now – there’s no chance for me to get this bug fixed – as I don’t know what it is and I’ve no free time. My life is going on and I had a few changes regarding my job – so please be patient.

I’ll try to get some people who will work on this plugin again.

Hi CybrRob,

I’ve been ill for a while now and didn’t have much time, but I checked different parts of the code. The only thing I found out is that there might be this (in that case wrong) error message when file_get_contents() isn’t allowed and there’s no curl on your server / webhosting package.

The best way to find the bug would be to get in touch with someone who has this problem and check all details. (AWS Access Key ID + Secret Key + Server / Webhosting Config).

We are currently receiving reports about this problem from other people as well. We haven’t been able to resolve the problem yet.
Since this started so suddenly, it might be that the problem is caused by changes of the Amazon API.

We’ll try to analyze and find the “bug”, as our keys are workin’ correctly and we’ve tried a bunch of keys from different people. It could be that there’s a problem using the Amazon API with a different error message, which isn’t handled correctly by the plugin – but I’m not sure and have to check this out during the next days.

Just to notice if someone reads this later on … the plugin is continued right here again … as the original developer is back.

The project was given into the hands of another guy, who didn’t do anything and Ginchen didn’t know how to contact me.

I’m back in game and there’ll be updates again ??

May be it′s just that easy.

I think it is the line “Contributors” in the readme.txt ′cause there′s the username which is shown as the plugin′s author. Don′t know why I didn′t think of this ^^

There will be a database update funtion in the next release. I didn′t have the time to do this ′cause I was on a trip to Wordcamp 2009 in Jena. Sorry, there′s no chance of doing impossible things ??

Normally the automatic updater of wordpress deactivates and activates a plugin by itself … I′ll check that again.

Features for history may come one day, but they won′t be big things, ′cause there is a really good plugin called “Now reading” which does a lot more than this one. It is my goal to have a small plugin and not, as the other one is, a big application. The other plugin is available at https://robm.me.uk/projects/plugins/wordpress/now-reading

Okay, I got it and will code it rihgt now. It will take a moment to do this and there will be a new release soon. – Stay tuned.

sorry for that. The plugin is using german Amazon Web Service and I don′t think that there will be the books of other countries. I′ll implement a new feature for choosing the Amazon market place during the next days. I hope the AWS is the same for all countries.

I didn′t mention this until now, ′cause there were no testers from other countries and it was impossible to think of everything ??

I′ll update the plugin and the description as fast as possible.
