In reply to: [Multisite Widgets Context] WIdget Context button doesn’t workTake a look at your console and see if there are any js errors there. You might have errors coming from other plugin and themes that is prevent the plugin from working properly.

In reply to: [Multisite Widgets Context] Doesn’t work for Text or Custom HTML widgetsThis plugin is not really intended for grabbing widget data from other subsites, but instead run that widget as if it were running on another subsite. What it can do is populate the widget with content (e.g: menus) from the target subsite. But not from the widget itself. (This just made me realize that the “Pull widget data from target site” can be
misleading)What you want sounds more like a “Copy Widget From Site X” feature that what this plugin was built for. You can still use the text widgets or custom html to run shortcodes in a context of another subsite, that will work (running the shortcode) but the content itself will have to be manually (re)created).
Hope that makes sense for you :).

In reply to: [Multisite Widgets Context] Work for Local server multisite ?Hi @mrudangsms, it should work without any issue locally, what’s the issue you’re facing locally?
It should be just the plugin cache, it should re-appear automatically after a few hours. Although the plugin should check for these kinds of things automatically and flush the cache, so I’ll add this as a future improvement to the plugin.
Thanks for the report.

In reply to: [Multisite Widgets Context] Multisite supportHey @nigativ81. It’s very unlikely that this would be possible due to the nature of how widgets and sidebars are designed in WordPress core. There would be also some performance concerns with this approach as the query would be slow if there are a lot of blogs in the network. Another thing to take into account is how the posts from multiple blogs would be combined (there can be several ways of doing this). Due the reasons I just mentioned this is not something I’m willing to add to the plugin, you might be better off creating a custom widget to accomplish you goal.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Multisite Widgets Context] Confusing Plugin OperationHi mkormendy,
The plugin works like this: You create a widget in a sidebar on one sub-site and you can set it up to run as it were running on another sub-site.
Let’s take the Recent Posts Widget example. If you are on sub-site X, and you add a Recent Posts Widget and set it up to run in the context of sub-site Y. The widget will return the recent posts from sub-site Y instead of the sub-site X. It basically switches the context (database tables and everything else) so the widget can run using data from the selected site.
I’ll update the README in the next update to make it clear.
