I “solved” the issue by disabling the W3 Total Cache plugin caching options.

I can confirm this behavior as well. Disabling all caching options relative to the W3 Total Cache plugin does indeed resolves the issue with the DISQUS plugin.

Confirmed. This is still a bug in WordPress 3.0.4

You have to manually remove the items from the menu. If someone has the link, though, it should be possible to access those unpublished (draft) pages anyway.

My solution was to change the post_type in the DB to something like “unpublished-page”.

So they won’t show up anywhere in the website.

Thanks, those are useful hints indeed, but I was looking at something deeper and heavier.
Did you take a look at the screenshots?

It’s more something like building an external admin panel that calls WordPress methods/functions to publish or edit posts.

Still I don’t know if this could be done as it sounds like using WordPress without its backend.

Disabling the Digg This plugin, I was able to get rid of the bug.

It’s probably some plugin you are using. Try disabling all of them and see if the bug persists.

I had the same issue but not on all posts and I couldn’t exactly tell what was triggering the bug.

I’m using the Hybrid 0.6 Theme and WordPress 2.8.3 but the issue presented itself with any theme.

I’ve now deleted the Digg This plugin. Solved for me.
