In reply to: [Contact Form 7] [Plugin: Contact Form 7] No ConfirmationWell I couldn’t really deactivate any of my plugins or change my theme just to make CF7 work, but I did notice that I had an older version of Contact Form to DB Extension installed. Once I updated that, the problem seems to have been solved. At least that’s what I think solved the problem – I also removed a misbehaving SuperCache plugin at the same time. Either way, it’s working now.
This is a very handy and flexible plugin btw. Thanks for making it!
I reversed course and tried using the PHP mail function rather than the SMTP, and I was actually able to get a test email with the right “from” address, though I have not been able to get any of the forms to send an email even though I get the “email sent” message from the form.
Everything is set right, but I still get a “could not connect to SMTP host” error.
Maybe it’s something to do with my host. I’ll give GoDaddy a call later today.
I’ve tried it six ways from Sunday; using the domain address, using my other gmail address, with POP enabled, etc. Nothing works. Getting error message:
[“ErrorInfo”]=>
string(43) “SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.”I’m using google apps to manage my domain, but I can’t seem to get the Callum instructions to work. I set the smtp and everything, but which email address should I be using here? I have my domain account, and that is forwarded to my main gmail account. If I use my domain account, what would that look like – I mean, is it [email protected] instead of [email protected]?
Sorry if that’s all a bit confused, I’ve been working on this site all day and my brain is fried. ??

In reply to: Getting rid of the page nameIve now switched to the Swift theme, and I really like it. Still have the same problem, but at least I feel like the developer is responsive, there’s a strong community for it, and it’s a very flexible theme.

In reply to: Getting rid of the page nameIt’s a theme called Berita from https://bizzthemes.com/themes/. I’m using the free, hobbled version which allows for limited customization. But I think I’m just running in to too many problems with it, and I’m going to dump it.

In reply to: Getting rid of the page namethanks. I’ve checked the page.php file and all around and can’t seem to find any of the kind of code you suggest. I’m working with a pretty dense theme that is just way above my head – I know some HTML and can fuddle around sometimes with css/php but when it gets deep, I get lost. I think it’s probably best I just live with it for the moment or get a different theme.
Thanks for your help though – really appreciate it!

In reply to: Getting rid of the page nameOkay. I’m fine with losing a bit of the SEO juice, since I don’t think “home” adds that much ?? but what does the page heading code look like? any ideas which file it is generally located in?
I’m wondering if this is the problem I’m having, or perhaps it’s another. I’m running a pretty fresh install of 2.9.2 with BuddyPress. When I installed SFC I did get the error message described, but the base module and all the optional modules do appear in my plugin list. I activated just two – the Base module plus the Login and the Register ones, and nothing seems to appear on my site. Maybe I’m missing something, and I admit to being a noob about wordpress and buddypress, but it just doesn’t seem to work. Is my problem an older version of PHP? Or is it BuddyPress? Or is it PEBCAK?

In reply to: [Plugin: Job Manager] Submit jobsDefinitely looking forward to that feature – this is a great plugin already, but that would make it ideal for my needs for a non-profit community job board. Thanks!

In reply to: Funky Dashboard ProblemsThanks. I guess I didn’t realize the guy who set up the account put it on free hosting until the ads popped up, and that’s what’s screwing it up. I’ll just move it over to my paid account.
