In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] Error messages in comment form not showingHello @crazyonepiece18: thanks for your reply!
From my point of view wpDiscuz is not useable if the mobile view doesn’t show the commenter why his/her comment cannot be published. If a required field is not filled out correctly the commenter should be hinted in mobile view consequently. Otherwise the commenter is confused and may leave the site. Best way to do this would be to show errors below the input fields rather that displaying a red border around required/wrong fields. Especially when the red border doesn’t show up in mobile view. That’s a bumper.
Btw. iPhones are “standard” smartphones these days ??

In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] Error messages in comment form not showingHello Team,
i was able to fix Issue 1 by clearing up my website cache after the update to the newest version of wpDiscuz. So now the required field are shown with a red border when the have to values.
BUT: the red borders are NOT shown in the mobile / responsive view. AND the tooltips are very badly shown in the mobile (responsive) version of the webpage e.g. on iPhone etc. Is there a way to show messages and tooltips under the fields?
Is there any solution for this?
Kind regards
Andre

In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] Edit comments for guestsThank for the quick reply!
Oh, that’s very sad ?? It would be a VERY valueable for guests.
Why does this work then with the standard WP comment system and the plugin “Simple Comment Editing”?
Thanks too. This issue can be closed cause it’s not a Plugin topic.
Thanks a lot Jack!
Thanks Jack!
I’ll pick number 1. The developer of the theme should stick to WP standard. I already mailed the support.
Kind regards
AndreHi Jack,
thanks for your suggestions. Selecting the “Author” user role for new comment notifications would mean that EVERY Author would get a notification when a comment to ANY post would be written right?
I need to following result:
– Send a notification to the author when a comment to HIS post is written
– If the autor itself writes a comment (or a reply on a comment) to his own post NO notification sould be send to himSelecting individual users would also mean that those users would get a notification when a comment to ANY post would be written right?
Kind regards
AndréI think i’m one step further.
After i dismissed the WP-option “Settings/Discussion/Show Comments within pages of 25 top level comments” the string
comment-page-1/
has gone in the notification. The permalink in my notification now looks like this:
https://www.videospielgeschichten.com/und-was-steht-morgen-auf-dem-programm/#comment-76
.So the only thing that’s not fitting now is the string
li-
which is missing. In result it has to look like this within my theme:#li-comment-55
to work fine. Can i maybe handle this but customizing the plugin code?
Btw.: i think my theme dev should make things better here. At least i need to break down comments into pages later ??

Hi Jack,
thanks a lot for your message.
It may be that my theme re-writes permalinks. Actually i assume that but anyway it works out fine while linking to comment entries. So in the BNFW case the links ends like this:
/comment-page-1/#comment-55
While in my theme case it ends like this:
/#li-comment-55
which works fine.
So the
comment-page-1/
part is too much and at the end there’s missing ali-
. The rest is good. Can i handle this but customizing the plugin code. Or are there any other ways to control this?
Kind regards
Andre
Is there no solution on this? Any help would be great.
Kind regards
Andre
