    Hi there Maeve

Thank you for coming back to me again so promptly. I checked whether there could be a conflict in my theme by switching to Twenty Eleven as you suggested and the plugin still did not work.

So it may well be something to do with how I’ve implemented the plugin which as you say might be really easy to spot – but then you know what you’re looking for – and I have not a clue!

It is really so kind of you to take the time to take a closer look for me and I will email you soon with some temporary login details.

I really appreciate you helping me out – the support you have given me is spectacular – thanks again for your patience and understanding.

    Cheers

    Hi there Maeve

I think that I have now uploaded the proper ogg files for all three tracks and I think that you will be able to see this now too.

It looks OK to me – but hey what do I know! I used Audacity as we already had it and it seemed to work fine – again the shortcode seems to be there too.

Unfortunately the plugin still seems to have vanished – is it possible that there there is a jquery issue in the Arras theme? I’m hoping not as I would have no idea how to test or fix that.

I do hope that you will be able to help me out still to solve this mystery because your plugin really did look fabulous and so professional on the website.

    Cheers

    Hi there Maeve

I’ll check but as I removed your plugin I could see the shortcode on the live visual website page in the main body of the text – although I did not look under the html tab – so I think that it must have still been there – but I will have another look to make sure.

Under view are you able to see my source code if you go to the website? I had a look yesterday and I could loads of code for your audio player – so I thought it was there but just not visible on the page.

Also is VLC media OK to convert the mp3 file to an ogg. file?

Do you know of any known conflicts with any other plugins or themes when used with the audio player plugin?

Thanks again for coming back to me – I know that my questions must seem rather basic to you – so thank you for your patience and help.

    Cheers

    Hi there Maeve

So glad that you’re happy to me help if you can – I really do appreciate it.

So here’s the thing, I hadn’t deactivated the plugin when you looked at the website.

Yesterday I had a message in my dashboard to update the Responsive theme and another plugin – neither of which I was using but I did so anyway.

Today I deleted the Responsive theme as I am using Arras. Then I deactivated all 6 plugins that were active including the audio player and reactivated them one by one. As I reactivated each of the plugins, I checked the live website each time to see if the audio player was visible on the webpage but it’s still not there.

    What else should I do?

    Cheers

    Hi there Maeve

Just saw your post – so here are some more details:
    I have WordPress Version 3.5.1
    Your plugin version 2.1
    website is https://www.johnceestannard.co.uk

After I updated the display settings I did go into manage songs and listed two more songs – all three now have 0.99p as the cost price but this is just for test purposes for now.

The shortcode is on the “about the album” page and I was having trouble getting the player to work through IE8 but it worked fine in Safari.

Hope this helps – please let me know if there is anything else you need from me – but I’m really new to WordPress and have no web design/code skills.

Thanks for all your help with this – I should also say that when the player worked it looked absolutely fabulous.

    Cheers

    Hi there folks

I just installed audio player (by Martin Laine) and there are no icons showing next to “add media”. I saw in a previous post that I could add the shortcode instead but I can’t see it anywhere?

I am completely new to this and I’m not at all “teckie” and I have tried to use the normal upload/insert function that is built into WordPress.

So I have been able to add music clips to the album page, however when you click on the link it sends the user off to a “Quicktime” icon and some sort of default player opens up and plays the clip. Then when the visitor stops the clip playing they are kicked off the site – which is tedious to say the least.

Please help me if you can – it all looked so easy on the tutorials I’ve seen – and I’m learning WordPress as I go along!

I’ve added the link to the site in case it helps:

    Thanks ever so much.
