    Hello Priscilla,

Thank you for responding. I did add %%page%% at the end of the SEO Title and Meta Description directly to the pages that have pagination.

For some reason, it did not resolve the issue with duplicate H1s on pages with pagination.

I did find on the internet that it Search Appearance –> Taxonomies –> Categories that in the SEO Title field, %%page%% (the purplish ovaal with “Page” in it) was present. In this fiel, it has: Term title, Archive, Page, Separater, Site Title.

Question: Is there a setting in Yoast that I can modify to resolve the H1 duplicate issue? If so, could you please explain how?

This also did not resolve a title error with a page that has duplication. Frankly, I don’t know if it’s due to the same thing. For some reason, there are 2 URL for the same page. One ends with a “/”, and the other doesn’t (e.g., mydomain.com/blog and mydomain.com/blog/).

Is there a setting in Yoast that can resolve this issue?

Thank you very much for your time and have a good day.

    Cheers!

    Hello Jer?en,

Thanks for the reply and information.

I have some follow up questions if you have a moment.

    Question 1

In Search Appearance –> Taxonomies, I have Tags (post_tag), Formats (post_format), Product Categories (product_cat), Product Tags (product_tag), and Shipping Classes (product_shipping_class) all set to No.

In Search Appearance –> Archives, I have Author archives settings, Date archives settings set to Disabled.

Just to make sure, by having all of the above items set to either No or Disabled, does this ensure that all the archives these items produce will not be indexed?

I did check the XML sitemap, and none of the are present. I also re-ran a site scan for duplicate content, and the major issue with duplicate content has been resolved by implementing the above settings.

    Question 2

Is there any way to permanently delete all the archives associated with the above instances that have been created automatically by WordPress? Is there any way to prevent WordPress from creating these archives.

From what I understand, setting the above options to No or Disabled does not delete them and it does not prevent them from being created automatically by WordPress. It looks like Yoast redirects quires to these items to the home page. Is that correct?

Does having all of these archives in the data base and all these redirects affect server and application performance?

Again, thank you for your time and have a good day.

    Cheers!

    Hello Nastia,

Thank you for the quick response.

My apologies. I should have been clearer. Our site is not integrated with Sucurri or any other similar service. We were looking for way to scan our site for security issues and found Sucurri’s free website scan tool at: https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/.

As per your recommendations, I purged all caches – server, application, CDN, and browser. I also restarted Apache and NGINX. I then reran the test and the security warnings are still present. At this point, I don’t know what to do as we have all the options in Defender’s Security Headers and in Security Tweaks enabled and set to a strict option when available and have cleared all caches.

So that you can check it on your end, our domain is: arenasfoto.com.

Thank you very much for your time and have a good day.

    Cheers!

    Hello Dave,

Thank you very much for the information.

By saving the setting by exporting them to a key, will that allow me to reinstall WordFence and not have to complete any verifications and configure settings? Sorry, I’ve never done this, so I just want to make sure before I proceed with your instructions.

    Again, many thanks!

    Hello,

    Thanks for the response.

Just to make sure I understand, are you saying that if I disable Redirection on pages on the frontend the plugin will not function? I am using the plugin only for redirecting URLs

Thank you and have a good day!

    Hello David,

My apologies. After rereading my question, it really wasn’t clear. I wanted to know if your plugin would permit me to run that script on individual posts.

I downloaded the plying last night and tried it. It works! I am able to run the script for Pinterest’s “Pin It” on ad-hoc posts.

Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Hello Leo,

Thanks for replying on a Saturday!

I have a few questions regarding hosting fonts locally as per the article you sent (https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-local-fonts/).

For reference, we don’t have a child theme.

    1. How can I determine which Google Fonts we need (I know which font family it is. I’m referring to the size and type – normal/italic) to make sure I download the fonts need for the entire site?

    2. I’d like to upload the fonts directly to the server as the method of uploading them via the Media Libray actually looks more complicated. Do you happen to have a KB on how upload Google Fonts to the server that details the path to the folder where the fonts should be upload, if there is a need to create a new folder, what to do after uploading the fonts to the server, and any other relevant details?

    3. Is it possible to use a program such as Code Snippets to upload fonts to the server?

Again, many thanks and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Cheers!

    Hello Leo,

When I sent the message containing: “Sorry. The plugin has been activated. The URL is: https://www.arenasfoto.com”, the plugin was activated.

About 30 minutes after you sent the email containing: “I’m not seeing anything unusual here:
https://www.screencast.com/t/53yXxsFWkxy”, I deactivated it as the font looked bad.

When you sent the above message, the plugin was activated.

Yes, I’ve reached out to the developer, but you know how that goes.

If I host fonts locally as explained in the article you sent (https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-local-fonts/), will I run in to this same issue?

I opted for the plugin given that for me it was the easiest option and ensured I would not perform a task incorrectly and then have serious issues with the site.

For clarity, will I run into that styling issue if I host fonts locally as per said article?

Thank you for all your time. I appreciate it greatly!

    Hello Leo,

Thanks for getting back to me!

I really don’t know what to say. It looks like the correct font type and sizes are listed (remember, I have no coding experience, and I am new to WordPress).

All I can say is the font looks different when Google Fonts is NOT hosted locally and when it IS hosted locally. Why that’s the case is beyond me, and is what I am trying to figure out with your help and divine patience.

Below are URLs for 2 images. Both images are of a section of text on the homepage I sent you the URL for. One image shows the text when Google Fonts is NOT hosted locally. The other image shows the same front when Google Fonts is IS hosted locally. It’s clear they look different. For some reason, the styling is not being applied when Google Fonts is hosted locally and disabled (by disabled, I mean there is an option on the OMGF plugin that disables Google Fonts from loading from an external source, at least that’s what I understand).

    1. Image showing Google Fonts NOT hosted locally (this is how the “styling” is supposed to look): https://www.screencast.com/t/R1FFsMqeYes

    3. Image showing Google Fonts hosted locally: https://www.screencast.com/t/97lBobiSb624

Please let me know if you have any issues viewing the images. I just signed up for this service, so I’m not sure if I used it correctly.

Again, many thanks for your time and patience.

    Hi Leo,

Sorry. The plugin has been activated. The URL is: https://www.arenasfoto.com

In case you need it, the font types on style sheet generated by OMGF plugin: Lato (Latin) normal & Italic: 100, 300, 400, and 700.

    Thank you!

    Hello Leo,

Thank you very much for your quick response.

I did find that article before contacting you. It’s quite a bit beyond my skill level. Sorry. This is why I used the plugin OMGF. It analyzed a page that had all the the font type we used and all the variable. It then generate the stylesheet and put it on the server, and had an option to disable Google Fonts on the website.

It did work, but the styling was removed. By styling, I mean the unique characteristics such as color, for example.

I do have screenshot of before and after if there is a way to send them to too. In order to provide you with a live example, would have to enable the plugin, which would cause the fonts to display incorrectly until you were able to look at them.

Is there a way to send you the screenshots? I don’t see an option to do so via this messaging system.

Again, thank you for your time and have a good day.

    Cheers!

    Hi Gabriel,

By “freeloader” I assume you are referring to me. For your information, I did not download the plugin, so I am not a “freeloader”. I was verifying if the plugin was able to perform the function I needed it for, which is what Support is for, and decided to find another route given the “developer’s” lack of response and inability to answer a simple question regarding his own plugin (e.g., Will your plugin perform X function? Here’s the example code I want to insert. Can your plugin do this?). It’s a pretty straight forward question.

Where you to have a grasp of the meaning of that term “freeloader”, you would know that if something is free, there is no way anyone can be a “freeloader”.

By the way, Gabriel, have you given the developer any money? I see no way to do so. In that case, it appears you are the freeloader, that is if you downloaded and use the plugin.

    Have a great day!

    Hello,

I had no idea that checking email once every other day and responding to a question every other day would consume 100% percent of your time. If that’s the case, you might want to reconsider offering a free plugin if checking email one every two days is too much for you, which is vital given the impact your plugin can have on a site’s functionality. It’s far different than offering a plugin that can have an adverse affect on a site – such as a lazy load plugin that disrupts how a gallery is resolved but the site remains up, running, and 100% functional on the font and backend – whereas your plugin can render a site completely inoperable.

My question really didn’t have to do with Woocomerce directly had you read my message. It had to do with determining if your plugin had the functionality of implementing code that would allow me to select which pages Woocomerce’s code would appear on.

As such, my question was not concerned with third-party plugins, but with the functionality of your and if it was a plugin that would allow me to insert code – whether it had an impact on Woocommerce or on any other plugin or WP functionality.

Given your lack of support and snippy, flippant attitude, it’s clear your plugin and support are far from what I am looking for. Thought it’s free, you still have an obligation to provide support.

    Have a great day.

    Cheers!
