Your hints helped a lot already, John ??
The hosting provider is Amazon AWS (an EC2 server + Route 53 domain config). I don’t even know if it is possible to mess up with the Googlebot there if you don’t specifically want to do that ??
Cheers,
MarioYou are right.
If spam protection is ON and I fetch the page as Google, only the HTTP header is delivered.
Now the question is, why is the server getting a wrong IP?
Cheers,
MarioNo, the setup didn’t change when the problem occurred.
Hello!
I have the same problem and can narrow it down to one setting:
Block Fake Googlebots ON: Google can’t read the blog’s sitemap
Block Fake Googlebots OFF: Everything’s fine.So it seems as if the setting is actually blocking the REAL Google bot from accessing the page.
Cheers,
MarioSame here,
the setting for blocking fake Google bots is actually blocking the real Google bot. All sites of my sitemap have been removed from the index because of the issue. It worked perfectly until October 2017 but then stopped.
Do you have any further ideas how to fix this?
Cheers,

In reply to: the_content() doesn't work on single and page.phpI have a loop on the pages. It’s just, that the_content() doesn’t work on certain old pages. If i add a new page in the backend, everything works like a charm…

I found out 2 more things:

– the_content works if i create a new page. it doesn’t work with existing pagesany ideas? could it be a problem in the database?

In reply to: “multichannel” blog@dgold: thanks a lot! for the first time it’s just a test installation if such a system can work. it’s for a paper, i write for my university.
btw: can categories have sub-categories?
cat1
– cat1a
– cat1b
cat2
-cat2a
-cat2bso that i can use the role manager to allow a user to post in cat1 (and all it’s childs)

In reply to: Post to Pagesi have the same problem… i also need a solution for posting articles (posts) on pages. i think it will work like the category-pages, but i need different heades on each “category” page.
does anyone know how to solve the problem?

In reply to: Posts on Pages… again…i think you got my idea… but i don’t know which files i have to edit to show all posts of the e.g. “update” category in my static “update” page.
i found a plugin that lists all posts of a category in a static page. but i don’t need a list, i neet the whole posts to be shown at the page.
maybe you know how to do that…

In reply to: Posts on Pages… again…ok…
i know, that what i’m looking for does exactly do what category-pages do. BUT i want a static page to show the posts of a certain category (yes, as it does a category-page). but for my navigation it’s essentially to NOT USE a category-page but a normal page.
i know it’s kind of reinventing the wheel, but i don’t think that it is such a problem to view posts of a certain category on a page.
