In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Edit Table Slow And UnworkableHi Tobias
Ok … thank you. I will delete a table and recreate with fewer columns to see what the result is. As for Chrome … this is the browser I was trying it on!

NeilHi Tobias
I have installed and activated the Column Filter Extension and also changed two pages with [table id=xx datatables_columnfilter=”true” /] where xx = the table number but when I view the webpage nothing has changed!
Do you have any ideas why this is not working?
Regards
NeilHi Tobias
Thanks … that works fine now.
Also I didn’t realise that you could review only once (to be honest it hadn’t really crossed my mind).
Anyway thanks again.

NeilHi Haoxian
Thank you for your response.
It looks like my best option would be to download and install the TablePress Column Filter Extension. I will try this out when I get home this evening.

I have removed the first big block in my “Custom CSS” (with all the .tablepress-id-123 table selectors) as you advised and if by magic the table has reverted back to how it was (albeit that the styling is a mix of TablePress and my theme).
For now I will leave it like that. Maybe I will change the header colours at a later date.
Thank you so much for your help.

A link to one of the tables can be found at … https://www.peakandfellwalking.co.uk/peaks/peaks-by-category/birketts/
I do use custom CSS but I have not changed the code for quite a long time. That is why I believe that some other plugin or WordPress is interfering with the table.
Thank you for your quick response.

That is excellant … thank you. There is just one last section that does not seem to respond and I wondered if there was a fix.
In Table Options I have “The first row of the table is the table header” as selected. My Custom CSS code for the header is …
.tablepress-id-1 th, .tablepress-id-1 .sorting {
height:20px;
border:1px solid grey;
background-color:solid grey;
padding:3px 5px;
}
.tablepress-id-1 .sorting_asc, .tablepress-id-1 .sorting_desc {
height:20px;
border:1px solid grey;
background-color:solid grey;
padding:3px 5px;
}Is there anything I am doing wrong?
Thank you once again.

Just an update on my last post. I have tested both other tables on my website and your TablePress table. If I change the settings on normal tables then they work ok. Also if I have change the settings on your TablePress table (without the default CSS applied) then that is ok too. However as soon as I apply the default CSS on TablePress then those settings take over and I cant use any custom CSS settings anymore? I hope you find this useful and that you find a fix for the problem.

Ok no problem … thats great. However could you just let me what the CSS code is that influences the styling of the table … ie the background colous and fonts, the header colours and fonts, and the header and next previous buttons. I have tried to change the default styling but as yet I have had no luck so far.
Thank you for your help in the matter. It is a really great plugin.
