Well…I skipped the custom thumbnails entirely, made the page titles into links, and customized the CSS backgrounds and text with colors, shaping, and drop shadows so they they create what looks like graphical buttons.

Yes! Once it was live, no problems.

Yeah, it appears to be so, but I don’t really understand why, since all the other job board plugins I’ve tried have worked with no issues on the localhost in XAMPP. (And, yes, that sounds like the time for the sarcastic, “Why don’t you use one of those plugins,” ?? It’s not like that, really. It’s just frustrating because my client has specific needs for an application form and literally every other plugin has a built-in or for-purchase form builder which doesn’t meet those needs, while they block my attempts to redirect to the forms that the client does want. So, you’re it for us and I just have to get my head around it.)

I can’t set this page live until it’s ready to go, but I’ll let you know then (and hopefully the client will be patient if it doesn’t work perfectly right out of the box.)

Ok, yes, it works with Plain, but it doesn’t work if I toggle it back to PageName.

Shoot. Toggling didn’t work. The single job page that opened actually belonged to a different job board that I tried. I’m going to delete that other job board and try again, clean.

I tried Plain and something odd happened. All the pages turned to Plain permalinks (re: ?page_id=15 for instance), as you would expect, but the single job pages turned into this pattern ?job=general-labor-pastry-production-processing-plant, where “job” is the parent page. And the links work now.

I just toggled it back to the PostName permalink type and it works now. I had toggled it to something else yesterday, as an experiment but I don’t remember exactly what–it wasn’t plain, though–and it didn’t work then. Thank you. I should have tried all the options first.

I have this exact same problem. I haven’t modified anything. It probably is a pretty common issue.

I have been researching this issue, because…well, here’s what happened. I got an email this evening from my host which said that my account had been compromised and one of my domains was guilty of spamming. I explained to my host that I do not use that domain for any email addresses and we both began looking into the problem. It appeared that I suffered an attack on my website at 7 am this morning and possibly another about 24 hours before.

.htaccess files were changed. Multiple .htaccess files were added. My config files were changed (meaning somebody probably has my mySQL passwords–I changed them) and I had “litespeed” installed all at the same time. Also a number of files were infected…it’s a real mess.

I highly doubt that you had the actual Litespeed plugin installed without your permission. You may want to check all your files and also virus scan.

My host is claiming it’s my “outdated php code” that let the hacker in, but I think that’s the generic response. I am meticulous about my updates.

I should have come back and updated this thread. Sorry I forgot to do that. I managed to get the theme to load with the current Word Press–well, current as of 6 months ago–but between now and then, the whole thing melted down on me. I considered rewriting it from the ground up, but wound up taking Cryout’s Mantra and creating a daughter theme and recoded parts of it and worked on the graphics/layout to mimic the look of Adventure Journal.

My host got hacked, though, and I lost a fair bit of my work, all the middle of a busy October. I’m going to get things back together soon, though.

Basically, you can make Mantra into Adventure Journal so long as you have a complete copy of the files including the graphics. I went without the curled paper edges and the jagged tabs, but they might translate over if you need them. There are probably others that will work just as well as Mantra, but Mantra also has a lot of customization in the preferences, so it doesn’t all have to be recoded.

You’ll find it under Theme Options in the section “Site Title & Description.” You have the option to do Text Only, add a custom image, or have nothing there at all. The last option removes the slip of paper your text or logo would have otherwise shown up on.

I know this is awfully late, but I hope it helps.
