Let me see if I’ve got this straight. If you are using the default permalinks you won’t have a .htaccess file in the root.

As soon as you choose one of the other permalink options wordpress writes an .htaccess file. Am I right?

Just an update. I blew away the MYSQL wordpress database and ran the install.php again.

I have it working now but I’ve got new problems. Still wondering about the .htaccess file. UPdated my permalinks and still don’t have one. I will put one there but I don’t know what to put into it.
